Poor bethany.
Whenever death may surprise us,
let it be welcome
if our battle cry has reached even one receptive ear
and another hand reaches out to take up our arms.

Nobody's gonna miss me, no tears will fall, no ones gonna weap, when i hit that road.
my boots are broken my brain is sore, fer keepin' up with thier little world, i got a heavy load.

ages ago the genre of emo spawned from hardcore punk rock.

so hwm is a lot closer to that than a lot of bands.

bright eyes is puss emo.
we are the brand new beatniks. we are the down and outers.
we are the bleeding hearts, beating syncopated, broken rhythm.
our speed is often break neck. we need to slow it down.
tired of being sleepless. tired of being broken.

Jeez, Emily :roll: I was just trying to be specific because either way people will always get mad at me. If I say, oh yeah I like emo without making it specific people here will say you don't know what emo is its Fugazi and Rites of Spring blah blah blah like shut up goddamnit.

i dont know why people are so quick to use the indie rock term to refer to a specific kind of music. indie rock is one of the broadest terms there is. you know how broad the genre "rock" is right? there are thousands of SIGNED rock bands. there are a hundred times as many unsigned rock bands that are hugely different from one another.

Annie, be honest with me here. Do you know any of Fugazi's work? Don't lie, I really want the truth on your Fugazi knowledge.

And yes, indie rock is broad. If you don't dance around like a jackass and you're not on a major label, you're indie rock. That is how it goes.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.
