I was there and I actually liked 'em. Though they did try way to hard their music wasn't bad.
Just because I am sexy, naked, a bassist, and sporting a top hat doesn't make me Duncan Coutts!

I just thought of another one. Snapcase. They're from Buffalo and they are absolutely horrid. Although they're not the worst band I've ever heard, 30 Seconds to Mars was terrible live. I wanted to sit down during their set. It was horrible.

I was in Sarnia for Bayfest too .. I didn't like Flicker but I loved the other band .. umm Moment of Truth I think they were called. Autopilot Off .. saw them recently in T.O and they seemed pretty good .. I was sitting down off to the side and not paying much attention to them but from what I did hear they sounded okay

When they opened for OLP, the fact they were horrible was probably because that was the first time they played in front of the hometown audience and they were nervious. (I say this because they opened for the Guess Who or the Hip later on and they were much better.)

(Oh, just an added tidbit: that band (Flicker) just moved in next door to my best friend's grandma. They were nice quiet boys until they had that huge party on the Tuesday my friend's aunt (who lives with her grandma) had to work the next day.)

Now for my picks:

1) Any "band" (I use this term loosely) that was manufactured on TV/through a modeling agency.

2) The Headstones - talk about awful Bayfest openers, these guys opened for Nickelback (who I do like and really enjoyed in concert) and I found them to be just really rude and the music wasn't all that great either. (Mind you, the last song they let the audience sing along wasn't that bad - yeah, the chorus is just "FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU!")

3) Most hip hop singers (with the exception of some Canadian acts (ei. Swollen Members))

4) Brooks and Dunn - These guys performed at Watershed (in Walkerton, Ont) right before Barenaked Ladies. These gusy are so fucking cheesy, I can't make a comparison. It was bad enough my feet fucking hurt from standing waiting for BNL (who finally came out at 11:15 that night), they were the only band of the day that made my ears ring that bad.

i'm pretty sure any band like that, i.e. blink 182 and sum 41, sounds horrible live.
