London was great. I'm thinking that's my new favourite OLP concert. Nice venue, okay crowd, hanging around with lots of great people, soundcheck, free stuff, the greatest opening band you'll ever see, and a long well rehearsed set.
Allison and I got there around 1230pm. Not much happening. Gail was there, and just a handful of others. Jo-Ann eventually arrived. We hung around the arena and surrounding area (making sure at least someone was in line for us) all afternoon.
Allison, Stu (cougr99 from CC), Gail and myself went in to the soundcheck -- which was a great experience. Yay Allison! The band fooled around a bit, but still managed to kick out 4 full songs. Afterwards, as Treble Charger was getting their gear on stage, the band joined us on the floor for a little meet and greet. Big opportunities for photos and autographs. And Stace (CC and olp.net fame), hooked us all up with free t-shirts.
From the soundcheck, we headed back outside and joined the front of the line where Jo-Ann (thank god!) was still holding our spots. 30 minutes outside, and we were in. Our little group got right up against the barricade. Allison and Gail were close to dead center. Stu, Jo-Ann, and her friend were a little more to the right, and I was to the right of them - dead center in front of Duncan. The crowd wasn't bad. A lot of crowd surfers (I got my glasses kicked off by one - NOT GOOD!), but the pushing wasn't nearly as dangerous as what went down in Sarnia. We were able to hold on, keep our spots and actually enjoy the show.
The night was well run. Treble Charger took the stage right on time, turnover was done in 20 minutes! OLP's set was predictable, but long and tight. Raine had lyrics problems -- but all else was good
In the aftermath, everyone got something. Allison scored 70% of a setlist, Stu got a whole one (Rich took a pic, should be online at Rich & Shelly's site), Gail got a Treble Charger setlist, several people got picks from the bands or Stace. Between all of us, we cleaned up.
We all found each other again and headed outside. I think Gail has a nice group picture of our entire crew: Gail, Allison, Fraser, Sand, Kruno, Jo-Ann, Rich, Shelly, Stu, me and a few others. We hung around near the tour bus and got warmed up in Rich's car. Thanks Rich! Because of the opportunities we got during the soundcheck, we didn't really care about the band coming out. There was no way they would have come out -- there must have been 100 people around the tour bus up until midnight. We took off and both got home in decent time.
I'll have pictures tomorrow night of the soundcheck, Treble Charger and a few from the show. Cameras were actually allowed! You'll see pics everywhere from everyone.
Until then:

They did play BIRDMAN,
this was the best version I heard so far on this tour. IT was amazing. Like they added another gutiar part or something. tO WATCH jEREMY AND sTEVE DURING THIS SONG WILL BLOW YOUR MINDF.. At the end it is as if Jeremy has 5 drumsticks because he is going so fast and with the lightening. And how Steve plays while Raine is pulling on his guitar strap pratically choking him. I think Steve was trying very hard not to laugh last night. He actually was starting to laugh in the beginning but jus tconcentrated on his playing with Raine haging all over him.
The show was great. They were full of so much energy. the only bad thing was the crowd surfers and the girl's behind us yelling Raine you're so hot every few minutes. Allison actually turned to them adn said WOW that is so original. other then that it wasa a great show and we all pretty muched lucked out with things.
It was great meeting up with guys. But Rich and Shelly aren't in the group shot. They don't like their pictures taking or something like that. Still it was a great photo and i will post as soon as I get it developed.

last night
Last night certainly was incredible. The Birdman was definitely one of the highlights of the show - it was so freakin intense! Gail and Kyle pretty much summed the whole day up so I don't have much else to say. I will post my pictures as soon as I get them developed!
I'm already anxious for the ACC show!

Well I froze waiting in line for hours and then some skateboarder kids held my spot in line while I ran around to the back to meet Steve, Duncan Jeremy and Chantal K. but I didn't have a camera or a pen .. yes, I'm a moron. The crowd was pretty rough, where I was anyway .. 3 songs in I got kicked in the face by a surfer and today have a nice purple and red eye and scratches on my face, and an asshole guy managed to shove me aside and take my spot halfway through so I was shoved to 2nd row. Had my camera knocked flying when another surfer landed on my hand/head but the hot security guards gave it back to me. The birdman dance was amazing .. and watching Steve orgasm with Raine hanging all over him was definitely a plus. Met some great people: Gail, Kruno, Frasier .. R&S again .. and I think I got some great pics.
Good show .. thanks to Kruno for the guitar pick

Were you in the Steve Mazur Fan Section? That's the best spot, seriously. You get to watch Steve rock out on his guitar, and the crowdsurfing isn't as bad in that area (or at least it wasn't at the last 2 concerts I've been to) The only bad part is that you really can't see Jer.
HARDCORE!!!
OMG. I can't believe I din't think fo you
until now because when I think on
a scale of one to ten you're like YWELVE.
No, seriously?
I <3 my HLP!!!!!

Oh and I got a big smile from Mike .. hehe, during the 1st or 2nd song, I can't remember, I was all giddy and singing along with a goofy smile on my face I'm sure and Mike looked right at me, gave me a huge grin and winked

Nope, the last concert I was in front of Steve and he was amazing but I love Duncan too so this time I chose to stand in front of Duncan, well I was standing inbetween Raine and Duncan so I could see everyone. The spot was good but too many crowd surfers .. if I had stood in front of Steve I wouldn't have been able to see Mike either and I like watching him too .. plus Raine moves around so much you can see him no matter where you are .. and Duncan jumps up on the speakers or whatever those things are at the edge of the stage so it was all good .. Steve is the nicest guy though .. everyone he talked too he made sure to ask their name .. Duncan was nice too and Jeremy's just a cutie .. Raine is the only one who didn't come out .. he went in through another door and Chantal just came out to chat for a few minutes.

I got the look from Mike as well... sans the wink of course but I got a huge smile and he gave a nod to Jeremy but I couldant see Jer from where I was...
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.
