it makes them look like they're doing their job. plus it's easy money. and as most of you all think, it's a victimless crime right, so hey, why not be bought by the trafficers. plus for the most part, some of the vehicles are being confiscated and used by the police. the rest go to auction.

Well......I expect them to try and do their job. That's why they joined law enforcement.
To enforce the law.....not rape the law up the arsehole.

yes, but I don't know about your police, but Goffstown polices are fucking crazy and rude and just not good.

Guess it depends where you live......I mean, i fully understand that there are corrupt cops out there.
My perspective is be corrupt.....but do your job. Hell, at least if they are confiscating all the drugs that they possibly can, great.
If they wanna keep some of the confiscated drugs to use/abuse/etc. then thats their decision. But at least they are stopping the sale.

Olp_waited wrote:I wanna know why some parents think its fine if teens drink alcohol as long as they in their own home and staying there, but not smoke even cigs. All of it is still illegal for minors.
...i think the parents in this case aren't really thinking that the law is THE most important thing, but rather that their children are safe. smoking is always always unhealthy (and starts an addictive life-long habit), where as alcohol in small amounts isn't that terrible. as well, maybe these parents realize that underage kids are going to drink, and they'd rather have this kids drinking in a safe environment than having to drive somewhere to drink.
so pretty much they're completely rational in their choices here...

my bro's roomates folks.. did that
well sorta
haha
well jeff's mom is one of the head people for the residences at the school so they know what goes on in res.. so to get jeff ready, they gave him his first (and only) drinks... a shot of jack.. shot of captain morgan, etc .. basically a bit of everything in shots.. and some shitty ass beer so he now feels everything tastes like shit and doesnt drink.
my folks on the other hand
my dad drinks (hides his beers/places he drinks even tho he knows i do)
and my mom loathes drinking and bitches him, me out for drinking if we ever touch it heh
so my for my bro's 19th he went out and got drunk, fell, cut his arm to the point it needed stitches (didnt get em) and is now on antibiotics...
of course.. my bro's a dumbass
he shouldve learned from me but yeah
anyways
giving it to your kids takes away the "mystery" and the curiousity.. drinking isnt as "cool" anymore.. how the fuck are you "rebelling" by drinking if your parents are "okay" with it? so really.. it ruins the idea of drinking for the most part

Well if thats true, isn't it for smoking?
My mom allows me to drink mudslides and etc, as long as shes there, she knows about and responsibil;ity. When me, my older bro and his two friends went to montreal for the concert, I got a little drunk, but when we told my mom, she was fine with it, and etc. But when it comes to smoking, it is absolutely out of the question.
Kids are going to smoke as well. I think over half the ,kids in my school has at least tryed pot. I don't find pot merely as good as drinking, just because drinking at least tastes good.

So how do I go about getting some potttttttttt?

I've found the whole drinking thing is because your parents would rather supervise you or at least be aware of what you're doing. If you were sneaking around doing illegal things behind their back and ending up drinking all over town they would worry because who knows what could happen to you.
With smoking its much less likely that you'll get raped if you were just trying to sneak a cigeratte behind the house.

Over here, you can drink in private from the age of 5 onwards. Most people have their first drinks at home - my nephew at the age of about 7 would sometimes have red wine mixed with a lot of water if we were having wine with dinner. It makes much more sense like that. And as for your comparison with smoking - smoking is much more addictive and harmful than drinking - which is probably the reason for the difference in attitudes.
How old do you have to be to smoke in the states?

18

That's silly.
It's like here - you can buy cigarettes at 16, but for alcohol you generally have to be 18 (unless you're having beer or wine with a meal in a restaurant in which case it's 16). I have no idea why the cigarette age is lower.

19 for both here.
which is kind of a random age. at 18 you're generally considered an adult, but then for no particular reason they make you wait another year before you can go shake your booty in one of our fine super-hawt clubs.

yah... its weird. here, at age 18, you are responsible enough to vote, but not to drink.

Or responsible enough to join the military.
"Yep, we'll train you up good so you can kill bad guys for us, but you still can't drink a beer. Sorry son"

well actually, they are thinking of lower the drinking age only to the soldiers because of that. But still its stupid that it would be only for the soldiers.
