Okay, now that I'm about halfway through the second volume, I find myself less and less interested in Frankenstein. My first impression was that the letters and Victor's narrative were a lengthy (though interesting) preamble to the main bulk of the story. Not so, apparently. Like you said, Rusty, I definitely get the significance of everything that's going on, but it's not told in a very engaging way. I'm relying on Sparknotes more and more (read sparknotes, scan text, repeat).

It was wicked cool and all scary and shit and then that ended. Then something happened with a boat...and a dog or something. Yeah I gave up reading it.
