No no, it's okay. My parents were allowed to drive, so I got around that way. Much quicker than a bike, depending on how many red lights you hit.

but riding bikes around the street when you're a kid is fun. i never rode my bike to get from point a to point b. i just rode it for the sake of riding it and the funness of it all.

I was never asked out by a girl when a bike was my primary mode of transportation.

Holy cow, I can't imagine not knowing how to ride a bike. Nikki, I think it might be because you just never learned how to ride well. Once you learn I really don't think you can forget. I remember when I learned, I rode it up and down our beighborhood, decided to try a curb, landed on my head and got knocked out. I was 6 or so. I remember waking up and my mom telling me I wasn't riding my (coolp purple and pink!) bike for a month. :( I ride my bike when I'm at school and I think it's just fun to ride it. No kid around here grows up without learning. How horrid!

I didn't learn until I was nine. Then people laughed at me (I swear it was the bike's fault, not mine!). I used to ride it back and forth for hours (I live on a crescent, so it's not like I was going to get hit)

Ok. I grew up in Vancouver, and from age 7 biked everyone on my own usually. Biking in a city is better than driving!

And I agree, maybe you just didn't learn to ride it well so you forgot. Its like walking.

riding a bike is less monotonous than running, that's for sure. i should go and get mine from the basement sometime.

St. Louis. It's not exactly NYC, or anything, but at least where I live, there's enough traffic to cause worry. Because it is all very fast traffic.
