Yay! :D

I'm looking for another job right now.
I'm going to start applying to other cities now.

My current job makes me die a little inside everyday so I think it's time to switch.

Career advice required:

Okay, so I have been unemployed for a while, which is a pain in the ass because I have no 'real' work experience. To me, that is bullshit because I have been running the gift shop in our hospital for the past three years on every saturday. But its volunteer work so no one looks at it as actual work experience.

I got a Job interview today though. At a really cool craft store. Which I am really excited about because it is somewhere I would really like to work. But its only an interview and I haven't had any other oppertunities head my way.

Then later today, after I made an interview appointment, I got a call from the hospital and they have a grant offer for me. Its a garunteed job, no interviews or anything. If I say yes, its mine. It will pay for at least 1 term of next years tuition and I already know what I'll be doing and everything. The problem is, its a pretty crappy job. Its not something I find fun, and a lot of times they make you work really weird hours. Besides that, it will only last this summer so I have no chance of going back to it. I also have to consider that despite getting paid this is still volunteer work and that is why I can't get a job now. If employers wont hire me because they don't think I have experience working, then getting paid to do what I am already doing won't change much.

So. Do I say no to the hospital and take my chances with the job interview and keep trying to find a job in retail or whatever. Or do I take the hospital job and wait until september to look for another job when school starts again.

:( Help!
-Sarah

Say yes to the hospital and go to the interview anyway. Keep looking and if you find something better just drop the hospital.

I would hold out for the job at the crafts store. The hospital doesn't sound very good, and it will be a lot more stressful, and if it's paid volunteer work it won't benefit you much. Tell them to give you a while before you make up your mind so worst case scenario you can go to it, but I'd say hold out for the craft store.

Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
What's behind them...

So glad you could stay
Forever

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
There's blood on the blade
Don't take his hand

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
He's creeping too..

So glad you could stay
Forever

Yeah, so I declined the hospital job. They basically said sign here today or no job because my boss was going away for a month starting wednesday. So if I said yes, I couldn't quit, and I had to say yes before the end of the day. They arn't very considerate for a hospital, are they?
