My mom works as a secretary in the guidance office at my high school. It was great, because she always knew how everything worked when I was applying for college.

My dad works as a self-employed contractor. He's amazing at it. He's trying to get out of that and start doing work as a photographer. He bought an amazing digital camera, and a whole bunch of lights and backdrops and stuff. He's getting calls from a lot of people to do weddings and stuff. He's amazing at that too. I should post the picture of me that he took. It's incredible.

My dad never filed for disability while he was alive, which slowed down the process of my mom getting benefits after he died, even though she filed for them probably within a month of his death. It was ridiculously slow, especially considering it's supposed to "make up" for them killing my father.

that sucks Nikki.

my uncle didn't want to apply for disability either, but he finally did, and it took him about 4 months to get approved. for agent orange too

Ugh, 4 months is too long.

We never even thought it might've been the agent orange that caused my dad's cancer til after he died. We just blamed it on his smoking until then... I think someone must've mentioned the agent orange thing to my mom or something.

my mom told me this morning that if and or when she finds a full time job, shes also going to get a part time job, and so is my stepdad who is also full time employed. She said "We're in deep shit..."

:crying: this is loooooooovely lol

If MCAD doesn't accept me I am moving out and eating ramen forever until i get a real job and finish school. I just feel like such a burden on them, i mean my stepdad isnt even MY DAD and hes paying for my insurance and medical things and my food and all this and hes such a good person but i just feel bad...

How can I afford 400/month rent and go to school full time and find a job that'll pay good enough for that?

This stinks.

I could work at the post office but id have to cut my hair and take out my eyebrow piercing i think. but it would be 12 dollars an hour......

even if i had to wake up at 3:30 am every day :freak: i could still go to school cuz the shift is over at like 10 am or something like that

*breathes*

Sorry im just ... yah "this is my blog"

My Daddy works for the met office ... I'm not sure what the US or Canadian equivalent's called, but it's the people who do weather forecasts and stuff like that ... anyway, they have an aeroplane that flies to places and takes weather related measurements and he's in charge of all the equipment that goes on the plane.

My Mummy worked for the met office too, but I don't really know what she did. Maybe something to do with computers given that she always used to bring home bunch cards and that green stripy conputer paper with the holes down the side for us to draw on and make things with.

My Step-Mother used to be a social worker, but she took early retirement before she met my Daddy. Now she does lots of gardening and housewifey stuff. She used to be a volunteer guide at a Stately Home too, before they moved to a different part of the country.

You can't. Well, you can, but good luck. I'm just gonna continue with loans because it's the one thing in life actually worth going into debt for.

:sadyes: It's horrible horrible stuff.

But (and I'm not sure if this is what you were implying, but it seems that way) it's very VERY likely that it was the cause of my dad's cancer. He was stationed in the most agent orange saturated area of Vietnam.
