The theater was like nerd-central, but other then that it was wicked awesome sexy cool!!
It was sooo much better then I ever expected. It made me very happy.
The dolphins... and the song... and the towels... and the whale... oh it was so good.

Ahhhh.
It was greeeat. My friend didn't get a hell of a lot out of it, which I think was one reason why I enjoyed it so much... it's a unique brand of humour and they stuck to the book for the most part which probably alienated some people.
Oh, and the towel I happened to bring was nearly identical to the one Ford used in the movie.

There was a really hot guy that sat two seats over from me wearing a bathrobe and pj's. I think people thought he was an idiot until after the movie, when he became the coolest person ever.

i went. i took my towel. and...it was alright. it had wonderful moments - the whale, the dolphins, marvin, the couches.
but the storyline wasn't quite as good as i had hoped.
it was solid, but not worth seeing twice in my opinion.

I loved it. My friends and I were laughing at all the parts no one else got. So good.
There's two ways to ruin the movie for yourself.
1. You're a huge fan and want only the best. Because this isn't the best. It's good, but not all that great from a critical eye.
2. You've never read the books before, and you have no idea what to expect. You'll likely end up confused and infuriated.
My friends and I went in with the perfect attitude - not expecting brilliance, but hoping to have a good time seeing a bit of the novels come to life. I can definately see why most people would not enjoy the movies. However, if you enjoyed the books (and, again, if you're not expecting perfection), you'll probably enjoy the movie. There was a lot of great things come to life. Also quite a few things I could have done without, but well done none the less.
Also, no one even gave us a second glance when we walked into the theatre with towels (although, when I was walking to the seat, I had my towel over my head, and one person pointed and laughed knowingly).
Afterwards, however, everyone was noticing us. Though, that may have been because we stood outside the front doors of the cineplex having towel fights (both whipping and holding our towels taught and battling).

I'm thinking that's why I didn't like it much .. I mean I liked it and some parts were really good but overall I just felt kind of 'meh' about the movie .. but I haven't read the books yet so I had no idea what it was even about really heh.
I loved Marvin though.

I thought it was great. I throughly enjoyed the books, and the movie was just great. I never expect perfection, therfore it was a good time.

There were a lot of times where I thought "anyone who hasn't read the books will have no idea what's going on right now".
In fact, there were quite a few times that I wasn't sure what was going on myself.
One thing I didn't like was the double title shot. I know the second one was just the book itself, but it blended right into the scene, so it was pretty awkward.

Yeah, that was weird. I just sort of thought "...didn't we already have the opening credits?"
If I could change one thing it would have been in the beginning. Aw hell, black text time.
When they are going to tear down his house, and the construction guys say that they plans were on display and Arthur says that they were in a cellar. I was a little dissappointed they did have the huge unnecessary story with no lights and no stairs and hidden in the bathroom and all that jazz. But I guess that would have slowed down the whole thing.

read black text:
<font color="black">the whole whale monologue and bowl of petunias part was awesome! they included almost all of it. i spent most of that scene giggling, even if no one around me was.
i was disappointed that they didn't have the whole "no lights no stairs in a lavatory with sign saying 'beware of the leopard'" thing. that would've been very funny. i was also disappointed that L Prosser wasn't wearing a fur hat

aww see i spent most of that part thinking
damn i should have read the books first!
my favorite part:
was when those things came up from the ground and slapped them in the face everytime they had an idea
