I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

Arlie, could you have found a little less flattering of a pic of Andy Roddick? That whole tongue thing is sexy, right?

I couldn't find any really good ones. I don't think it's that bad. Plus, any picture of Andy Roddick is a sexy picture of Andy Roddick.

You can have long hair and have spikes. My friendn has long hair and he has huge spikes. And his hair is always colored, like green, bright red, bright blond. damn, he's so hot

Well Lori, I am trying to find people to fit in with at college, and having huge spiked hair would scare the people more than what I already do. I guess people in rich cities have problems with people who go thrifting and don't listen to rap music. Like in my communications class, we had to name our favorite cd. I said "Happiness..." and everyone was completely lost, and the other 29 people said either Dave Matthews or Nelly. God, I guess rich = trendy assholes.

Five words for you: Go to U of M. There are tons of fuschia haired, thrift shop, black specs, high topped little punks like me running all over the place. We DEFINITELY do not outnumber the prissy little sorority girls/ macho frat boys, but we have our representation.

There's this hot guy in my dorm that was wearing a "The Get Up Kids" t-shirt. I gotta talk to him. Actually, there are quite a few freshmen guys that I gotta talk to.

yeah, I know, I know. I was waiting for you to say that.

You could always take out loans, though.

OK, if I take out loans that means I will have to pay about $100,000 when I graduate from college, and owe some one my soul and a kilo of crack or something. I mean, why do you think I am at Oakland? Because I got rejected from everywhere else I applied? It's just that my parents refuse to support me in any way possible, and help my brother out all the time. I wish I wasn't middle class....

Well...it all matters on how much an education means to you. I'm going to owe several kilos of crack and my soul to somebody by the time I finish college. I'm not exactly rich either. My mom's a preschool teacher and we get social security because my dad died when I was 3.

and I kind of figured that you didn't get rejected from every other school except Oakland. I tend to notice highly refined grammar skills and writing abilities in people.

do I posess such grammar and writing abilities? please tell me I do so i can get into university next year!! :) just buggin ya

but Alan, wanna know what I would do? go to school in Canada... waaaaay cheaper (plus the exchange rate so i mean it's even moooore cheaper) and a good school in canada is just as good as the good ones in the States... they don't get quite the hype but you'd be really surprised at how great the quality of universities are over here... and you are from Detroit which is like a baseballs throw away from Windsor so you could probably easily go to the University of Windsor which is a pretty good school and you'd probably pay a quarter of the price...

just my two sense... thats all...

I'm gonna owe about $40,000 by the time I'm done school too and I don't have any financial support from my mom either .. it's still possible to get a good education and go where you want to go .. ya just have to work harder and do without some things .. it's tough but I'm hoping it will be worth it in the end .. otherwise I'll be pissed
