Radiohead Album Poll
I know this has been done before, but not for a while and a lot of new members have joined since. So, which is your favourite Radiohead album, and why?
Kid A - To me, this is the perfect all round album. There is great cohesion between all the tracks with a dynamic running through the whole thing. The range of tracks is impressive - the electronica of "Everything In Its Right Place" and "Idioteque" vs. the dreamy ballads in "How To Disappear Completely" and "Motion Picture Soundtrack". And the range of instruments used on "The National Anthem" deserves respect. Why else is it the best? Well there is the fact that it takes the listener by surprise (helped by the fact that no singles were released) - I will never forget the first time I listened to EIIRP and was blown away. And the amazing cover and sleeve art cannot be ignored as they all combine to create the ultimate modern album. Whilst OK Computer may be the best collection of singles, Kid A is the best album hands down.
Bring on LP6!

I'd have to say OK Computer, although its like picking a favourite OLP album. Its hard to beat Paranoid Android and Electroneering...
MUSICIAN: You're in a privileged position in society. You're expected to tell the truth
TOWNSHEND: Bullshit! Bullshit! I'm not expected to do anything. Nobody is going to tell me what to do. Nobody is even going to ask me what to do. If anybody doesn't like it, that's their problem. It's my work. If someone doesn't like it, I can't help it.

All I have from them is The Bends and OK Computer, but The Bends is absoultely fantastic! I just bought it a few months ago, and I listen to it all the time. Fake Plastic Trees is one of my all-time favorites!

My vote went to Kid A.. I wasn't particularly into Radiohead when I saw them do Idioteque on SNL, and I was blown away by it.

Yeah, it is all about Kid A. ^ I have that on my computer and that is an amazing SNL performance, but Optimistic, Idioteque, just great stuff.

luckyJQ9 wrote:OK Computer comes first. It's cutting edge but not annoyingly over the top. Next comes The Bends, that album is just solid. I'd say Kid A and Amnesiac are tied after that..and Pablo Honey lastly. Honorabe mention goes to the I Might Be Wrong Live Recordings. That album is freakin' awesome. Get it!
That is a good point. The Kid A/Amnesiac stuff sounds far more normal live (especially Like Spinning Plates).
And if you don't like Radiohead:

mmm...like spinning plate live....very nice! i like true love waits. that's a good one. the thing about radiohead that scares me is that no matter how they change their music or become weirder or anything like that I still like it, no matter what. there's something about them that makes me constantly love what they bring through their music.
