1. Spiritual Machines
2. Clumsy
3. Happiness
4. Gravity
5. Curve
6. Naveed
7. HIPT
8. Burn Burn

Gravity, Curve and Naveed are all a pretty close fight in terms of their ranking position and yet they probably have the least in common with each other out of the eight, in my opinion.

That said, Curve has definitely turned out to be a much, much better effort then I was expecting. I'll admit that I was one of the cynics on here that thought that HIPT and Burn Burn would be the end of OLP. I'm happy to say that I was wrong... Whatever OLP had lost during HIPT and Burn Burn they seem to have re-discovered during Curve. I think vocal challenges and the general maturity of the band is going to make it tough to get back to the rawness and heavy rock that we saw on Clumsy, Happiness and (to a lesser extent) Gravity, but I will gladly take what we have been given here on Curve. Curve has taken chances and has dared to be experimental and this is a HUGE part of what I think we all loved about the OLP from a decade past. I think this album will bring back many fallen away Spiritual Machines fans and I hope that OLP chooses to continue down this creative path and realize that they shine best when they don't worry about being popular!

1. Spiritual Machines
2. Naveed
3. Clumsy
4. Happiness
5. Curve

6. Burn Burn
7. Healthy
8. Gravity

1. Rabbits
2. Heavyweight
3. Will Someday Change
4. Find Our Way
5. If This is it
6. Window Seat
7. Fire in the Henhouse
8. Mettle
9. Allowance
10. As Fast as you can

Overall I'm very happy with Curve. I think it was about the best that anyone could realistically expect. Although I put their first 4 albums ahead of it, it can definitely stand up against those albums. Everything from Gravity to Burn Burn was pretty disappointing for me.

After almost a month of listens, I've come up with my revised perspective on curve!

1. Allowance - 4.75 (+0.25) Nice and upbeat; love Duncan's bass and the intro, good to listen to repeated times I think.
2. Fire In The Henhouse - 4.5 (+0.25) If it stayed as The Wolf, I'd STILL rate it better, like a 5 lol. But it's grown on me a lot. Just not enough chemistry and excitement to me in comparision to The Wolf.
3. Heavyweight - 5 Just a great hard-rock song.
4. Window Seat - 4 (-0.5) A bit slow, and I skip it a lot, but a great song when in the right mindset. Quite unique for OLP.
5. As Fast As You Can - 5  Forget what I said about wishing this wasn't their #2 single, it's too infectious to not think otherwise! I've listened to this song the most out of every song on Curve, my favourite :D. Feel-good song of the year?
6. If This Is It - 5 Loved the demo, love this even more. Epic vibe, epic solo, one of the best feel-good songs they have!
7. Will Someday Change - 4.5 (+0.5) REALLY nice change of pace, but to me, it still feels a bit too much like Raine's solo stuff to be "OLP".
8. Find Our Way - 4.75 (-0.25) This is where Steve surpasses Mike. THE BEST OLP SOLO TO DATE, bar none. I will play this song for the 2nd half alone lol.
9. Rabbits - 5 Love the vibe in the verses / outro, and the chorus? pure catharsis. My second favourite.
10. Mettle - 2 (-1.0) Just boring to me, I'll basically only listen to it with the whole album. Nevertheless, it's a decent way to summarize the Chuvalo-boxing theme / the album, and it's still well-produced / as emotionally-driven compared to the 1st listen. I'd just rather have Rabbits as the closing song, and have this as a filler / hidden track, like in Spiritual.

OVERALL: 4.5

I find that while Curve is a very complete album that works amazingly as a whole, it doesn't have as many stand-out individual songs as other albums like Clumsy, Naveed and Happiness do. For that reason, I think it's easier for me to rank the albums in two different categories: (1) on the strength of their whole, and (2) on the strength of their top songs. For example, I'd give up the entire Curve album before giving up Superman's Dead or Stealing Babies, but I'd rank the entire Curve album above many of the weaker songs on Happiness... and Clumsy.

So, here's how I'd list the albums according to those two categories:

ON THE STRENGTH OF THEIR WHOLE:
1. Spiritual Machines
2. Curve
3. Naveed
4. Happiness...
5. Clumsy
6. Burn Burn
7. Gravity
8. Healthy in Paranoid Times

ON THE STRENGTH OF THEIR TOP SONGS:
1. Clumsy
2. Happiness...
3. Naveed
4. Spiritual Machines
5. Curve
6. Gravity
7. Healthy in Paranoid Times
8. Burn Burn

My previous album ranking lists were largely based on the strength of the top songs, admittedly. Dividing the rankings is the only way I feel I can adequately weigh the albums.

As for the songs from Curve, here's the current standing for me, though it changes constantly:

1. Find Our Way
2. Allowance (really growing on me, I find myself singing along on this one the most)
3. Heavyweight
4. If This Is It (also growing on me, used to be much lower)
5. Will Someday Change
6. Fire in the Henhouse
7. As Fast As You Can
8. Rabbits
9. Mettle
10. Window Seat (very nice flow, but just feels incomplete and like it had more potential)

Top Albums

1. Happiness... - Just so weird. Very quiet solos. Most underrated work. One Man Army is the best lead off single ever. Top Tracks - One Man Army, Happiness and the Fish, Stealing Babies.

2. Clumsy - My first OLP album. Had the most hit tracks. Love the layering. Top Tracks - 100 Aisles, Carnival, Shaking.

3. Curve - Really great and catchy stuff. Very experimental for a band that has made 2 VERY mainstream albums since 2001.

4. Spiritual Machines - I hated this album at first. Totally grew on me. Top Tracks - Right Behind You, Are You Sad, The Wonderful Future.

5. Gravity - Very mainstream. For me it's sort of a break from the top 4 albums. Top Tracks - Sell My Soul, Not Enough, Sorry.

6. Naveed - A good rock album but the album just can't stand out. Top Tracks - Neon Crossing, The Birdman, Starseed.

7. Burn Burn - The only reason it's 7 is because of the Paper Moon solo. Top Tracks - Monkey Brains, Signs of Life, Paper Moon.

8. Healthy in Paranoid Times - WAY too mainstream. But the guitar work here is easily in the top 3. Top Tracks - Angels / Losing / Sleep, Will the Future Blame Us, World on a String.

Kinda hard to place... the songs could really float up or down depending on my mood that day. I'm definitely one of those few people that likes mettle as a song, and doesn't think its just some sort of ending credits garbage track. I think "if this is it" is a great track, but really liked the original recording we heard, which sounded more "Our Lady Peacey" to me... which people will probably say is bullshit, since they wrote the final version too, the songs sound like what every our lady peace sounds like... but theres just something missing from it that I felt that old chorus had... something reminiscent from their older albums that I really miss, even on a great album like Curve. AFAYC is a good song, I do like it, its my least favorite track on the album. I would not trade grocery list in a million years for it. I'm tempted to say I'd have traded any song on this album for grocery list except rabbits... or maybe "Will someday change", which is kinda the "bring back the sun" song on this album for me.
