Just saying, I think Lanni had a big influence on the early OLP sound, obviously Bob Rocked fucked that all over, but the question is, now that its just olp producing it im really curious to hear the final sound, and see which influence is greater.

Remember when Raine did that shitty solo album? There was some nonsense with a beard and people thought he was rapping?

Yeah, Bob Rock didn't produce that.

Yeah, I tried to like that album. It was awful. And plus, the band members said it was Mike who wanted to go in a "different direction" and that's why he quit, but it seems this was the other way around.

The solo album wasn't shitty, it was different. It can't even be compared to the last two OLP albums because it's such a completely different sound.

I find with Olp now with steve, most of these new songs have this kind of ambient sound, where Mike was pretty hard nosed. Like when you hear solos now a days from olp, its not really head banging guitar work like I found Mike kinda brought to the table. I also miss the deep bass riffs, anyone else miss those? damn those made some of the best songs.

(See what I did there? I stated an opinion like fact and then you did the same, and now we are coming to the realization that ITS FUCKING SUBJECTIVE. Can someone tell me if Gravity sold more than SM? Does that make it better? Was the subject matter of the HIPT songs more socially relevent and thus better than Naveed? No. Fuckoff. It's a band. They made songs we did like and we didn't like, but to assume they had the vision to know the outcome of what effect a producer would have or what the theme or motif of an album would become before they started writing songs is impossible. They made something they stand behind and accept all the songwriting credit, so if we don't like it, talk to the band, not the producer or the distributor or the guitar tech or the janitor that cleans up the studio. )

Sarah, aside from Not Afraid, there were some other songs that were performed live that never made it to the album: No Warning, and Talk Is Cheap.

Raine's solo album is definitely not for everybody. But I don't think it's comparable to OLP's catalog, being that it was created with a completely separate direction and focus in mind.
