Yeah, it wasn't funny to call him Keith Leger when you clearly knew his name. Have a bit more respect for the dude's recent passing.
Also, even though you saw him as a teeny bopper idol, Laurel's right, he's only done one movie like that because he didn't want to be known as that and wated to be taken seriously.
Megan mentioned a couple of really good movies with him. His character in Monster's Ball is still vivid in my mind and I haven't seen that movie in years. Not to mention roles like The Patriot, Four Feathers and The Order, I actually liked all of those movies. Ned Kelly wasn't too bad either, but it's been done before.
Honestly though the only problem I have with the last post you made is that it's like you're purposely trying to be disrespectful about him to stir shit up. Sure the CM's kinda dead-ish lately, so stirring stuff up might seem like the place is more lively, I've done it a few times, but if you were sitting there thinking it would be funny to say the "Keith Leger" thing, get a new sense of humour, not really funny to anyone else, but you I'd guess... it just seems petty... and that's coming from the most immature guy on the board. ME!

I have to say, I've never seen him as a teeny bopper actor at all either.
In fact, I wasn't particularly familiar with 10 Things I Hate About You until a few years back, and when I saw Heath Ledger was playing a teenage heart-throb, I was surprised.
I think it's kind of unfair to say that it depends on the person who died whether or not its stupid to want to see their last movie. It depends on the person seeing the movie way more than the actor in my opinion. Just because you didn't have a lot of respect for his work doesn't mean he didn't deserve it, and if people who did want to be able to see him on the big screen one last time, that's completely their perogative. It's not stupid at all.
Well, if people go "OMG That guys dead I'm gonna go see his movie now!" that's kind of stupid, but that's not what I meant.

I don't really know why, but Heath Ledger's death has gotten to me more so than any other celebrity deaths. Maybe it was because I'd been following him closely since I heard he'd been cast as the Joker.
Or maybe it's because, by all accounts, he was a class act. He wasn't a media whore or a drug addict or any shit like that. You didn't see or hear a ton of negative press associated with his name. He was just one of those promising young guys who should have had a huge and sucessful career ahead of him.
28? Twenty-fucking-eight? What the fuck.
His poor daughter...

Wouldn't trust what you're hearing at this point. Wait for the toxicology reports.
One thing the media has been reporting was that he checked himself into rehab a couple years ago. Which he did ... to research for his role in Candy.
And then of course a lot of anonymous "sources" are coming out saying a number of conflicting things...

Axtech wrote:Official police reports are saying that the pills were just sleeping pills in a bottle on his night table, not all around him as originally reported. They found no illegal drugs and there was no evidence that he'd been drinking. He had pneumonia at the time, as well as insomnia (having mentioning in previous interviews that he was only sleeping a couple of hours a night). Sounds to me like it was an accidental mixing of medication, if anything...
In any case, there will be some more official news after today.

I know, I was talking about the people who said he was a druggie
