Why did you delete Teedus's thread. It was totally legit and worth talking about to some. If it doesn't interest you don't fucking post. This isn't a board just for old OLP fans who know everything.

I'm not impressed with the moderator who deleted it.

but his post couldve just as easily been placed in one of the many other threads that already exist about the new album/new updates/etc etc

actually that would require digging to find it. The post was legitimate as a thread. It wasn't groundbreaking news but i disagree if it was deleted merely because someone decided it just wasn't interesting enough.

It just a bad precedent to set...

Actually we just got through discussing it with Teedus on the hub before I deleted it. He was the one to discover all the rest of Sony's music sites were down.

the 7th topic in this thread is about the "new information about the album" or what have you which teedus himself started and included the fact that (they) sony were going to be update soon

Teedus made a thread because he thought OLP was updating their website. It turned out that all Sony websites were down and his thread was actually not useful and I was overreacting a bit.

But our argument is more hypothetical. If OLP was taking down their old website and putting up a new one I would definetly think that it deserved its own thread and should not be taken down. Some people disagree with that.

That's the gist of it.

Oh ok. You certainly did overreact.

Also, I highly doubt Sony would TAKE DOWN the band's site to update it to a new version. Any good webmaster makes a new site ahead of time, and uploads it immediately when taking down the old one, leaving up an "under construction" temporary page for anyone who tries to access the page during that short time.

I don't feel I was overreacting if the thread was erased for a certain reason.

I honestly find that some of the newer posters get treated harshly and the older ones are arrogant and condescending. My reaction was based on more than one situation so I was pulling my best Peter Finch...

It just has a few too many threads on the same subject. The posters aren't as active and are kind of n00by. It's all good though, it's a great looking board and the fans are passionate.

yeah, we definetly have the passionate variety here. If I want an opinion on music I know I'm going to get some strong voices here. I like that.

I'll just stay away from SM.net.....the noob thing is a problem.....even here sometimes and I sympathize with our admins........but I look it like, if I was a new fan and I wanted to ask a question or talk about something, I shouldn't have to read every thread to do it.

If there already is a thread about it then deleting it is perfectly fine. But limiting one thread for all the songs is something I might find irritating....its not wrong.......but problematic for the youngin's or people that hate digging through pages and pages when really a new thread is much more accessible.

Anyways, I do apologize for my comments to our admin's earlier........it was out of line and could have been handled more maturely. I hope people see where I was coming from...

Yeah but if we have a thread for each song it just becomes a bit much, and the board becomes more prone to spamming. I agree with you though, I get most of my music news/reviews from those on the CM and Hub. They really are good resource for that stuff. You should at least check out SM.net. They have awesome multimedia stuff and the posts themselves aren't terrible.
