Actually, I was pleasantly not disgusted by it. I think the guitar needs work, but the rest sounded pretty cool in a new way. I'm actually now looking forward to seeing what they put forth.

I still have my reservations though.

And Gravity still sucks.

I was actually quite impressed- I love the addition of more keyboards on this record. The lyrics (from what I could make out) seemed to have more meaning and the music, I thought, was very cool. Definitely a new sound though!

I don't understand this AT ALL. To me it sounds like the exactly same style as Gravity, which I personally don't find all that bad. The lyrics don't seem to be any "deeper" at all. The drumming was sub-par for Jeremy, I mean, the basic 4 beats per bar rock beat I find really tiresome. Maybe it's just a rehearsal thing though, as in, maybe they weren't playing it quite like they will for the record. I mean, Jeremy's not going to be going crazy while Raine's talking to the camera. Despite the sub-par drumming, I like it. I have to say though, during that little 'rave up' at the end, Duncan's playing was impressive, I think more so than his playing on any other song in their catalogue.

Well, I think you're wrong. To say that this sounds like Gravity is well, your opinion I guess. I think it sounds nothing like Gravity (Don't get me wrong, I loved Gravity). Piano on Gravity was pretty scarce, while two songs we have heard already are pretty much based around the piano (Don't Ask Why and this track).

And you're right, this is a rehersal thing- Don't be expecting Raine to fully pronounce all the words- he sort of just moans and groans during these things. I did say that from what I could make out, the lyrics seemed more meaningful and I stick by that. Even the titles of these songs seem to have more meaning to them (ie Love & Trust, Weight of the Lord). The lyrics were obviously dumbed down in Gravity, which I don't find to be a bad thing either- can you blame them for experimenting on one album?

As for the drumming, it exploded in the second half of the song (Did you miss that part?) I wouldn't call Jer's drumming sub-par either unless you can outperform him.

Also, Duncan is pretty amazing on the bass- I wouldn't say that the bass in this song beats out the rest of their catalogue though until we hear a studio version of the song. Personally, I think Duncan's best bass comes off Clumsy and Spiritual Machines.

So in conclusion, I disagree with you.

People, it is too large of a file to send through e-mail!

Now write that fifty times on a piece of foolscap and submit it to me by the end of class!
