Biggest SM hit here was most definitely "Life". I remember hearing it on the radio one or two times. Heh.

The radio station here hardly ever played Life. They played both In Repair and Right Behind You much more often. In fact, I got sick of Right Behind You because of how much they played the fucker.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

Happiness... debuted on the Billboard Charts on October 7, 1999 at #69 with sales in the 22500-23000 range... it peaked at that point.

Spiritual Machines debuted on the Billboard Charts March 22, 2001 at #81 with sales of 20000... it peaked at that point.

Kind of suprising considering that OMA hit #10 on the rock charts and Life didn't even make the top 20...

Regardless, Happiness.. Sold better for OLP in the States and outsold SM by about 100 000 units i think. Either way, both of the albums were flops in terms of sales for OLP. Everyone was expecting Happiness.... to breakthru with the past expectations of Clumsy.... And like you said, SM had a poor marketing scheme for the American market.

Also, for whoever said that Mafia wasn't released as a single. I'm pretty sure it was... but it was one of those singles that didn't recieve the normal OLP hype (radio promotion) and without a video... it was like Carnival

Besides Clumsy and Gravity,OLP hasn't made a dent in the American market.

Maybe that was what OLP intended to do with Gravity, maybe they didn't. They are the only ones who'll ever truly know though.

i like the new songs, infact i think that the band should do this album and put out a B-side album with all the stuff that didn't make the cds..well the good stuff that didn't make the cds and the old stuff like Trapeze and stuff... I love Trapeze.

Ahh those aren't B-sides, those are songs that weren't good enough for the album. Look in the B-sides thread and find out what one is. Ahhh.

I could have sworn Happiness debuted higher, but I guess I am wrong. It's funny, with sales like what Happiness... had its first week, it would easily be a top 20 debut today. Gotta love that.

I think we can continue to type that until our fingers fall off, but people still won't understand/listen. *sigh*

Cutting Not Afraid would be fucking retarded. This song is no doubt First single of a new cd material. If they want something to seriously promote an album this song is one which can do it. Ill be pretty dissapointed if wtsoyf is cut too, Cutting them though wouldnt make a whole lot of sense to me. Remember the last summersault? they played life and everyones a junkie to kinda leak the new album out, it would be pretty hard to believe that they wont be on it now.

Well, considering that the name of the album is likely going to be WTSOYF, I doubt they'll cut it.

I can see them changing the name though. Its still pretty early to say that WTSOYF is definate.

I still believe that "WTSOYF" is a bad album title, unless they pull a Happiness and call it "Wipe... That Smile Off Your Face" :freak:

I think "Not Afraid" would be a better title.

As I've said before, if they like WTSOYF so much, they should call the album "War" or "This is War". Both titles work fine, are short, could have meaning behind them and link to that song.

Also, "War" appears in Walking in Circles, too.

Yeah, i don't think they should just take the title of the song. They should pull a gravity or happiness and just take a lyric from their favorite song as the title of the cd.

I think 'Stregnth That You Won't Believe' would be a cool title. I just think that the title should reflect the whole cd like happiness, clumsy, and spiritual machines. We have heard other songs that may make the cd... and they don't really fit in with 'wipe that smile off your face' My personal favorite name for the cd would be 'trust' or something to do with trust. Not only does it come from my favorite of the new songs, it also seems to fit most of the other songs. wipe definetly ahs to do with trust, having a politician lie to you breaking your trust. I just think that the title should have something to do with trust, or lies... or something like that.

"Wipe...that smile off your face"

so people will refer to it as "wipe..."

for some reason I think the message is lost in that version.

I think if they did do the '...' it should be 'Wipe that smile... Off your face'

But ofcourse, they shouldn't do the '...' because it was already done

They were going to name Clumsy trapeze, but you don't see that on the cd
