One of the toughest reads I've found is Joseph Conrad's "Heart Of Darkness"
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

Yeah, let me tell you, Heart Of Darkness is a God awful book. Worst book I've ever read.

I am going to check out Fast Food Nation soon. I've heard good things about this.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

hmm do you mean difficult as in really long books, or as in big words, or as in confusing plots...or all of those

a lot of metaphors, at least 3 per page... Somewhat difficult to follow... If you space out for one second while reading you're screwed...

at least those all apply to Heart Of Darkness.

The hardest book I ever read was Hutering Heights.

Another book I love is To Kill a Mockingbird.

I hated To Kill a Mockingbird. Everyone thinks I'm a freak for that, but did.
Just because I am sexy, naked, a bassist, and sporting a top hat doesn't make me Duncan Coutts!

Ooo...I think I'll have to get some of these books you guys have been suggesting. All I've been reading for the past year and a half is the Lord of the Rings.

Stranger Beside Me by Ann Rule is a really good book. I like biographies and that book is sort of like that. It is about Ted Bundy. The weird thing is that Ann Rule knew Ted Bundy before and while he committed the rapes and murders but she didnt know. I just found out it was made into a movie but I recommend the book first.

I've been reading them over and over and over again. I stopped reading them a couple of months ago though. So I guess it's only been a year and a quarter.

Oooooooh, "Do They Hear You When You Cry?" by Fauziya Kassindja.

That book is indescribable.
