I heard that rumour too somewhere
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

I read this and thought I'd pass it along.

Bono's speech at President Bush's prayer breakfast: http://www.data.org/archives/000774.php

U2 is done after the Vertigo Tour.......supposedly, people all over the place are getting hints dropped supposedly from Edge and Larry.

They are claiming a similar thing that Eminem stated.......they feel that they have completed everything they wanted to, musically, with the release of Vertigo. Larry was even "supposedly" quoted stating something to the effect of that the design of the Vertigo CD kind of shows how the band feels.......they have "come full circle".

I dunno........

So......I'll be bitter. We all know it would happen sooner or later though. I'll keep ya's posted if I hear anything else.

It's all still a rumor........and I'm tired. Love ya'll!

I read an article a few weeks ago that my mom sent me. It said how Bono wanted to step away from his political activism. Not completely, but to concentrate more on music, because he wants to be remembered more as a musician and not as an activist.

Something along those lines. So I wouldn't count them out completely yet!

I hope that's true too!!

Also, an excerpt from an article about Grammy winners:

"In the end, though, it was Irish quartet U2 who logged the largest metal payload at the close of the 3 1/2-hour broadcast, amassing five of five potential Grammys, including the coveted album of the year trophy for How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb.

U2 also snared rock album of the year, song of the year, best rock performance by a duo or group with vocal for "Sometimes You Can't Make it on Your Own," and best rock song for "City of Blinding Lights."

I was so excited, especially since going into it they were not expected to win more than a couple awards.

I was wondering about that too... I think it was released in Nov 2004. Not sure what the rules are for album releases, cutoff dates for awards, etc.

the grammy are for records released Oct-Sept..

so awards would be for music released Oct 2004- Sept 2005.

I was glad U2 sweep the awards. They have now won 24 Grammys. I read they are the number 1 rock band as fas as grammys go, winning the most..

I also love these photos.

He wore that hat long before the movie though.

TRUE STORY. I saw Jake at the LA show. He was standing near me. I just said hi and shook his hand.. I was more thrilled seeing Val Kilmer afterwards..Big Vk fan.

U2 pulled out of the last 10 dates( Japan, Australia and Hawaii) on the Vertigo tour due to a immediate family illness. The shows as of now are postphoned..

i'm a huge U2 fan, they've been my favourite band since probably 2001... I own their entire catalogue, and countless bootlegs to boot :p

OLP were my first favourite band when Clumsy came out, but they've kind of been on the back burner for me until a few months ago... I've probably been listening to more OLP than U2 the past few months :P

Saw them twice on the Vertigo tour in Vancouver.. (and the City of Blinding Lights Video Shoot) .. the second show I was against the front rail in the ellipse... it was mind-blowingly awesome :p

*jealous that korczyk was in the ellipse and I wasn't*

I saw them twice on the Vertigo tour as well... once in Toronto and once in Buffalo.

Bono's birthday is coming up...

"For the fourth year in a row, the African Well Fund is pleased to announce plans for a fundraising drive to " Build a Well for Bono's Birthday ".
From March 22nd through May 6th, the African Well Fund invites U2 fans and others who are inspired by Bono's tireless activism on behalf of Africa to make a donation in honor of Bono's birthday on May 10th"

You can also stop by the site to sign his "birthday card".

http://www.africanwellfund.org/Bono-Well-2006.html

Secondly, there will be an auction of great photos of recent tours, including many from Vertigo. 100% of the proceeds of this auction will go towards building water projects in Zimbabwe this year.

I won't be bidding on any, but I enjoyed going thru the preview of photos:
