I have been listening to Pilate for almost a year now. I saw them open for Matthew Good and was hooked. Their new album is easily one of my favourites of 2003. Their best song (IMO) is Shadow On The Take, but it didn't make the cut for the final album. If you would like it, email or PM me since I'm very rarely around here anymore.
Some of you probably think I left. But was I ever here to start?

I'm going to the Pilate show in Edmonton on Feb. 7. Anyone else going? It's at the powerplant and it's only $10.

So, new album is out now!

Sell Control For Life's Speed

I finally listened to it just now, and I'm VERY impressed. It's a much more mature album than the first. It's epic in some ways. Very complex, very deep. Beautiful. It's not quite as mellow as the first, but I think that's only because everything is so deeply layered.

Definitely worth checking out. Todd's voice is amazing as always, and they've really stepped it up for this album.

I like Todd's voice, but I don't really like the new single. i've maybe heard 3 songs by them.

Hum. The cd is not too bad.
Mike Turner got thanked in the liner notes. I think I've heard that name somewhere before...

yeah, they also thank a couple of other people at Pocket Studios (the studio Mike co-founded not too long ago).

not sure why though, as none of the tracks on the album were recorded there. (some were recorded at the Armoury in Vancouver, and others at Phase One in Toronto)
