The album was recorded at Olympic Studios in London, England with Jay Clifford of Jump Little Children, ex-Verve bassist Simon Jones, Los Angeles guitarist/keyboard player Les Hall, and London drummer, Laurie Jenkins. Day also added a 25-piece orchestra
for new songs "Numbness for Sound," "I'll Take You On," "Collide," and "She Says," which first appeared on his debut release, Australia, in what he describes as "almost demo form."
