I like the Beatles too .. Let It Be has to be one of my favorite songs by them. There aren't very many Beatles tunes I don't like

The reason i love them is because they are one of the most skillful bands ever brought together. They are definately one of the most creative too.

I mean it seens the only people that critisize them are the ones that have never really listened to them, or don't know very much about them.

the beatles are great....my favorite song of theirs might be 'come together'. 'helter skelter' is really cool too. well, basically their whole catalogue is great. i find myself listening the their 'number 1's' cd a lot.
"Sh*t, id be f*ckin' scared if us were opening for...us"
-Dave Grohl on why the Red Hot Chili Peppers only let the Foos play a 45 minute set when they toured together

"baby, i wish you were my baby,
ill make u make a baby,
let's make electric power,
in fear u should not cower,
cuz girl i will protect u,
i promise not to sex u,
and IiiiiIiiiiIiiiiiiIiiiiiIiiiiii...." - Dudez a Plenti

"all by myself
cause I don’t want to drag you down, hold you down
cause you’re a friend
i blame myself
i guess you think it’s funny now, funny now
it's such a shame..."
-Feeder - Just a Day

I am still awesome.........................................................................................seriously.

i can never choose what my favorite beatles album is...it's between sgt. pepper's and revolver....and magical mystery tour. all depending on which album i'm listening to is the one that's my favorite.

I listen to that "1" CD a lot as well. It's the only CD in my dad's car that we both semi-agree on (he doesn't like it, but thinks it's better than my other music). Whenever there's a long trip, I pop that into the player.

Going back to the 1st page of this topic...
Yes, The Beatles are overrated, simply because they are rated high enough (at least from what I've read), that no band could ever be as good as The Beatles are supposed to be. Have you noticed that whenever someone ranks the top albums of all time, Beatles albums dominate the list? In my Top 1000 Albums book by Colin Larkin, the Top 3 albums are all Beatles albums, and on the VH1 countdown, I think 6 of the top 11 albums were by te Beatles. I don't dislike the Beatles at all, but there is no way that they have made the top 3 albums of all time. Therefore, they are overrated.

thats why i say the only people who critisize them are the ones who havn't really listened to them.

thats why only 2 people don'r like them. how can you say someone is overrated when the reason they get to the top of lists is because people vote for them. its not just one guy who says "hey lets put them beatles at the top, they're pretty good."

poeples choice awards and things of that nature are voted on by people
those 2 he mentioned are not

and i think we both said we like some of their stuff, we just said that they are not as good as everyone makes them out to be, no single band could be that good.
everyone makes out to be it as if they are music when a band isnt bigger then music itself

my point was, not just one single guy makes the decision to put the album/band at the top of the list

otherwise then you could definitely say they are overrated

but then it is just the one guys opinion

I'm a Beatles fan, but I prefer their later hits rather than their earlier teen-pop stuff. To me, the stuff has much more depth, more complicated lyrics, stuff i like!!

There is a place
Where I can go
When I feel low
When I feel blue

And it's my mind
And there's no time
When I'm alone

I think of you
And things you do
Go 'round my head
The things you said
Like "I love only you"

In my mind there's no sorrow
Don't you know that it's so?
There'll be no sad tomorrow
Don't you know that it's so?

There is a place
Where I can go
When I feel low
When I feel blue

And it's my mind
And there's no time
When I'm alone

There is a place....
------------------------
This song was off the Beatles' first album in 1963. Yes, it is very simple, but if you take into account the first verse, the bridge, and the "it's my mind" part - this was very heavy stuff for 1963, compared to the other songs at the time. Lennon's talk of retreating to your imagination to escape from reality was ahead of its time and I do not believe there were songs from this time period, or before, that dealt with this subject matter.
