Breaking Guitar strings is AMAZING!!!! [/sarcasm]

Postby Spiral Out » 5/30/2002, 6:41 pm

I surrender
I can't tune my new guitar... In-fucking-possible.
It has a non-locking tuners, so the whole thing moves whenever I tighten a string, so when this happens, all the other strings go out of tune.

I managed to break like... 3 strings trying to tune it... YAY FOR ME..

Im almost about to explode right now...

Ugh... sorry for venting.

Don't give up!

You should take it to the guitar shop, and get it looked at... There could be a number of things wrong with it.

Just please, don't give up!

I impaled my finger on one of Simone's strings, and it hurt a lot more than I expected it would  I can play a Gmaj chord! Oooh mad skillz.

I owned a guitar, it would be a PRS

Yeah, although I want a gibson as well..
But a PRS would be way better.

 i was just re-stringing my (acoustic) guitar last week and snapped a string. it was really funny though cuz it shot towards my arm and i lurched backwards and screamed "MOTHERFUCKER" while my sister just stood in the doorway laughing her ass off. it hurts :(

 'nother funny story: my friend jen bought a used acoustic guitar and tried to tune it...except she had never played guitar before and ended up trying to tune it an octave too high. she broke 3 or 4 strings before she figured it out

I agree... Fenders (in general) are just too plain, both in looks and sound...

Well, I took my guitar into the shop, and it turns out it wasnt my fault I couldnt tune it, the springs to hold the floating bridge were installed wrong, so i had no chance of getting the strings i use on it.

*phew*

I scored a bunch more springs and tossed em all in there to make the bridge so tight that its basically fixed in place now, so its tunable, just no wammy bar anymore. (not that I used it anyways)
