OK, this might be the best band out right now that no one knows of yet. They honestly have impressed me, and they're Canadian too, which should make some of you people here interested.
To be blunt, they sound like a mixture of Neutral Milk Hotel with the falsetto of John Darnielle of the Mountain Goats and the vocal delivery of Bonnie "Prince" Billy. In other words, they're pretty much amazing. And they're nice guys.
Everyone needs to check them out if they already haven't. You can easily find their album, "Are We Not Horses", on any torrent site.

Good album. I'm a little mixed about it... seems like it could have been really really awesome. but it's just pretty awesome.
