All-Star Celebrity Line-Up Announced for the Unmasked Fundraiser for the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH)
TORONTO, ONTARIO -- 09/30/09 -- Divine Brown, Chantal Kreviazuk and Kardinal Offishall join emcee George Stroumboulopoulus to compile an all-star celebrity line-up for the Unmasked fundraiser, held in support of the Centre For Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).
The event will feature onstage performances by JUNO Award winners Chantal Kreviazuk and Divine Brown as well as an action packed DJ set by multiple 2009 JUNO Award winner for Single of the Year, Kardinal Offishall. The party will be held at MARO Nightclub, 135 Liberty Street, on Oct. 14, doors open at 8pm.
Tickets for the Unmasked party are on sale to the general public for $150 each or $1300 for a package of 10. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 416-599-2550.
"This is a great opportunity for the community to come out and, not only see some of Canada's best performers, but to show their support for the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health," said Ana Lopes, Chair of Queen Street Unmasked and Vice Chair, CAMH Foundation Board of Directors.
Last year Unmasked raised over $250,000 for CAMH and attracted more than 600 people including celebrity guests Serena Ryder, Pamela Wallin, K-OS, actors from Corner Gas, Little Mosque on the Prairie and more. Many high profile business leaders including Jim Balsillie, artists such as Charlie Pachter and great chefs including Albino Silva of Chiado and Mark Thuet were also involved.
This year, CAMH is expecting a similar show of support from Canadian celebrities and high profile community and business leaders. Tickets have already sold out for the private dinner series being held at Queen West area galleries and restaurants and featuring the culinary delights of Toronto's leading chefs.
Proceeds from Unmasked will support CAMH's redevelopment project and work to eradicate the stigma surrounding mental illness and addiction. The redevelopment will see the transformation of the antiquated Queen Street West psychiatric institution into an inviting, contemporary urban village.
