Emtee Club

Postby Axtech » 4/11/2004, 7:30 am

A new club is in the works, honouring my friend and yours; Emtee.

However, we need a name for the club. Once enough (good) suggestions are given, a decision will be made. Perhaps a poll may come into play. Who knows?

Give a suggestion for the name if you've got one, either using "Turner" or "Emtee". I'd like to stay away from "Turnerists", as it's already used generally in the whole Steve vs Mike debate.

I'll start it off with "Emtee's El337ists".

I got it! Emtee Junkies.

This works on two plateaus. One is that where nuts about him, which is the obvious one.

The second is "Emtee" Sounds like "Empty". A junkie is a glutton for his craving and will do anything for short term pleasures. This is not emtee, who is only in the bis for music and not pleasures such as money (ie when he gave us his new music for free). By being an Empty junkie, you free of the greed some musicians sucumb to. Plus it uses a SM reference.

On the same idea as my last one, World Turners.

Yes I realize both of my Ideas do not have a ring to them, but at least they have meaning. Still thinking.

I've got one...

"The Mike Turner 'Effin Rules Club".
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

We need more suggestions, people!

Sometime tomorrow (screw an exact time), I'll make a poll with whatever we've got.

So far, it's:

Emtee's El337ists (or E1337ists? both are used)
Emtee Junkies
World Turners
Turner Inc

That would make a good slogan, but not a name... :P
