A new computer virus is making it's way around the internet using AOL Instant Messenger (IM).
The virus spreads by sending an Instant Message using AOL's IM product that says "check this out... http://..."; The actual web site link changes but is usually wgutv.com. The message will appear to come from someone you know. They did not actually send it, but their computer is infected.
If you use AOL Instant Messenger or any other instant message program, and you receive a message like this, do NOT click on the link. If you do it will install a program on your PC that will send the link to everyone on your Buddy List. This virus does not appear to cause any other harm, but we can expect more dangerous Instant Message based viruses in the future. As a general rule, you should never click on a link sent to you using instant messaging until you confirm that the alleged sender was in fact the sender.
