OLP #9

Postby Tinman » 7/25/2013, 7:17 am

Any further updates on this? The most I've heard is that the band mates were meeting up again to work on it. Also, Duncan implied that Grocery List was unfinished and would likely make this album. Has anyone heard anything else? I assume we can expect a 2015 release?

I would assume nothing. No real news has come up. I would also count out Grocery List. No left behind tracks have ever carried over to the next album, so I wouldn't think that one would either.

Duncan seemed to think it was going to happen, but I assume you're right. Which is sad, but the band has tried to bring works from previous albums to new albums and never gone through with it... I think this was the case with "ordinary girl" or whatever we can hear on the old Christmas Fan Video. Seems like when the band writes a new album, they want a fresh slate. I can't blame them, but god damn, I wish we could get a studio rendition of the song.

Won't happen. B-sides will occur when they are done making new music. 2015 is a good estimate on the album, though. Time will tell!

You're probably right. Duncan said they didnt have time to finish it, but in the next clip raine says that in the past, they would have just recorded the wolf and that would have been that, but because they were in charge, they had time to do it right, and make FITHH. Conflicting statements.

I'm hopeful, but past experience says not to be.

I think 2015 is a good estimate for the album. I'll be very surprised if it drops next year.

If we go by the recent releases. 2009, 2012; 2015 seems highly likely.

Well guys don't forget that good old times where we had Clumsy in 1997, Happiness 1999, Spiritual 2000 and Gravity 2002....however also i think that is hard that we will have a release in 2014...is the 20th anniversary of Naveed then i think that the band will be focus on that...Raine told some time ago that they will remaster the album and probably there will be a tour...well Naveed in its entirety live will be also great!

Naveed live would be awesome, but I also don't know that raine would be up for it at this point. I think he's still a great singer, but that album was so different from his later and current singing techniques. I think that a lot of it, namely the higher notes he would scream in his chest voice on that album (before he was so excessive with his falsetto) would either be too hard on him these days, or destroy his voice if he was able to manage it.

I disagree. Raine could handle it because he simply wouldn't do what he can't do or what he doesn't want to do. Look at One Man Army and Superman's Dead. He would make it work.

Well Naveed is a little bit different! His voice is very raw and grunge in that album...however after some performance of old songs like "All My Friends" or "Blister" i think that Raine can handle...but Naveed is another thing! I really don't know! If we see some old perfomance of Denied in 2009 some times it seems good...some times not! I don't know!

Out of all of the older albums, I think Naveed would be the easiest for him to handle. I personally think his current voice is quite similar to Naveed, albeit more tame. It's got some wild vocal parts, but toning them down really wouldn't affect the songs.

I agree, I think he'd be able to pull it off...maybe with a few modifications. A tour or show hearing Naveed in full would be so fucking cool as I've been wanting to hear Neon Crossing and Under Zenith for quite a while now!

I would hope so. I have that song as my ringtone, and when someone calls you in the am when you're still in bed, it scares the shit out of you. Scary and fun.
