I think the biggest limitation they have, is the majority of their radio hits are owned by Sony, and I believe Sony has done all they intend to with the band. Still, it would be cool for those who love to play the game. Keep on pushing for it! The worst that can happen is it doesn't get in the game. Welcome to the board!
Oh, major record labels... They like to shoot themselves in the foot, don't they? That's ok. They're part of the reason for this whole campaign, too. In fact, the original question I posed to the Rock Band forums was "How can we get uncooperative labels to license music for Rock Band?" and this campaign was the only (legally safe) idea that came of it. Our Lady Peace is my pilot attempt at this concept because I love them and they've never been in a music game before. Sony might be "done" with OLP (and they missed the boat with A Decade), but I like to think that if the campaign gets enough support, they might decide it is financially in their interests to play along with Harmonix. In the meantime, Coalition was the label for Burn Burn, so they might be more accommodating. Not to mention the upcoming album (which my cursory glances at a few sources can't find the label of) is a candidate as well...
Rerecords are also a possibility, as far as the game is concerned. The likes of Third Eye Blind and Kiss have done rerecords to get around various contract hurdles, so it's not unheard of. The Rock Band community usually throws a hissy fit about rerecords, but oh well. Rerecorded OLP is better than no OLP.
Now that Google+ has decided to implement pages, I made one over there, too. It's largely a direct copy of the Facebook one, but I figured hit both communities. It's
here if anyone is interested.
Finally, Harmonix really goes to bat for the community (though moreso when it makes financial sense for them) and they have a lot more established pull with record companies. So requesting stuff and showing how rabid we are about getting OLP through the official avenues will help a lot, too. The Rock Band song request form (no signup required) is
