OLP.CC site removed

Rich and Shelley have removed the site. :(

I for one have gotten to know Rich and Shelley and would like to thank them for running that site for 14 years. Up until the past couple years with the band joining twitter and facebook, their site was the only place to go for the most up to date OLP news. It is still my homepage on my web browser. I really hope that their database of setlists will not be lost.

Great job Rich and Shelley.

We will miss you guys at the shows and on the site!

Thanks!

The end of an era for Our Lady Peace fans... an era during most of which I wasn't even a fan yet. But cheers to Rich and Shelley, who provided us with one of the best OLP fan sites out there for so many years.

I was wondering about this quote...

To all our music friends, we hope to see you at some upcoming live shows (other than OLP), as the recent 53rd live performance will likely be our last.

Are they no longer fans? Disappointed with the band? Given this quote it seems they don't plan to attend any live shows during the 8th album tour? That's too bad.

Most or all of the data from their site is on the Internet Archive: http://www.archive.org/web/web.php And the CM has its own tour/setlist archive.

As for ourladypeace.cc -- I visited their site daily (or more) throughout my late teens. I'm sad but not surprised to see it shut down, and I'm grateful for all of Rich and Shelley's hard work keeping the site updated over the years.

If it weren't for those two, I'd never have found the CM. Their site opened up a whole new door in my life. I've got to do some OLP stuff with them over the last few years, which was an honor. Rich even dragged me to the front of the crowd at Edgefest in '06 so Raine could use my gear to record Kiss on the Mouth. Above all, he and Shelley have been awesome friends, and so much fun to hang out with before shows. When we decided to create a news page for the site, it was a weak emulation of .cc, but they were our inspiration for it. I hope that the CM will be able to continue to build on the "By the Fans, for the Fans" legacy they created. Thanks guys!

I wouldn't have found the CM without the CC either.

However I can't say I didn't see this coming, they were severely lacking for the passed year or more.

The CM remains as the solo active fansite.

That turned out rather well if I recall.

But yes echo'ing the comments made above thanks much to Rich and Shelly for the site. If there were ever 2 people that were too cool for school it would be these guys.

I'll never forget when they asked for footage for the first video compilation they created. It was so much fun sending stuff to them...all we had the ability to use then was sending copies of video tapes off the TV! I've never had the fortune of meeting either Rich or Shelley, but I have corresponded with them a lot over the years.
The site says their 53rd and probably final OLP show, which is also sad. I guess everyone cannot hang in forever. I get it.
Thanks R&S for everything over the years! Your site was an awesome gift to the rest of us. Best of luck in all you guys do and keep on keepin' on!

Peace,
Matt

Ahh, so sad to OLP.cc come to an end. They did so much for the fans and the band, and deserve mad props for it! Getting a mention in their news feed at age 14 or 15 was the coolest thing ever. It exposed you to the interwebs!! Thanks for the Easter Egg hunts, the infamous olp.cc compilation tapes and the wonderful memories over the years! All the best on your future endeavours!

Crazy. That site was my link to Our Lady Peace when access was so limited here in the US. I even bought one of their compilation tapes because it was the only way to see Our Lady Peace music videos. I'm sure I have it sitting around here somewhere.

Man, this is so true. I remember after my first OLP concert I sent my setlist in. It was the greatest thing to see my name on their. It was less great to see that some other jerk had submitted one for that show too. :p

But anyway, this site was what led me to the CM and reignited my OLP passion after it had spent a couple years on the wane. It will be missed :(
I just wanna get out,
Stuck inside of this.

Very sad to see the site go. I sent in many reviews and setlists to them over the years and had their site linked in my AIM profile in college (ol' skool) It's true that the updates on the site had been few and far between the past year or so, but lets be honest, years ago there was way more to update us on.

RIP OLP.CC
