“Music doesn’t have the power to change the world. What music does is it changes people, & that changes the world, so to say that music doesn’t change people anymore is just ridiculous. It does everyday. It doesn’t have to be on a political or social level. You could be feeling shitty & it makes you happy & if that’s all it does, it’s changing the world. It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida

Who would be willing to record audio of Raine's performance(s) if I provide the gear?

I think Tom is going. Ask him. We know he's qualified to do it :)

Don't know Josh> That is what one of the emails said about this. Money will help Haiti..

I think thi spage is from when he first did the BUSKING.. Then he was tryingto raise enough for a school. I think this has become a yearly thing now to help raise money .. I do not think it matters if you donate to a person or just in general. This is for people who might not have heard of Warchild or what it does..

I got a very nice thank you note from Samantha for donating money at Jackson Triggs. I thought that was sweet.. I can not remember if you get the same note when you donate online or not. Has anyone ever gotten a note online from Samantha thanking them for their donations. BTW it is standard note sent out. Just thought it was nice to have one mailed..

I think I donated about that much or more total so far this year. Do I get a choice of what song I want? :P Don't knock ShOWTUNES..

Bree, I went back and looked it up. I did get a note for that also.. I just thought it nice that they would mail it out..

Oooh.. between Drummer for Darfur and Jackson Triggs I'm up to about 90 and I have a check for Raine. Does it have to be showtunes?

It's nice and all if a charity sends a thank you letter but it sort of defeats the purpose.

I remember donating to a food shelter a few years ago around Thanksgiving/Christmas. Since then they proceeded to send me fliers for Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Arbor Day, Take your dog to work day, National Kazoo day etc etc

Save your postage and keep the extra half a dollar it costs in production costs.

I don't need a thank you card thank you very much.

I see you beat me too it. At first I thought it was from the interview ALAN did back in Spring..
I laughed when he said not very good in early stages. We should send him the JT stuff..

Brian, why are you so negative? I thought it was nice to get a letter thanking me.. I donate to them all the time. I was saying I did not remember getting the letter. I got the same thing for online.. I donate cause I want to, not for any other reason. Alot of times I feel I am not doing enough to help out so to get a thank you note makes you feel in some small way you are helping out..

You can remove youself from the list you know that don't you?

BTS speaking of Donating I got an email back from theMusic Therapy ride. if anyone is interested in donating money to them let me know.. maybe we can send one from all of us. I have to let the guy know when I sent it so it can track it. He thought it was nice to contact him and a little surprised by it..

I don't think he's being negative. All these physical letters, fliers, etc. cost real money and take away from what really makes it towards a charity's goal -- that's all. Email is free though.
