Postby DG » 4/1/2010, 2:34 am

I've been just rummaging through youtube and just got curious what everyones favorite live performance has been, particularily one on youtube so it has easy access to give an example or whatever, but every and any are good.

As for me, I haven't decided yet,.

The April 27, 2006 Vancouver performance of Will The Future Blame Us has always been one of my favorite concert moments. I'll try to render out a video sometime and post it.

Are you looking for individual songs, or concerts on the whole?

I really liked the Superman's Dead performance at the hall of fame.

I also like the acoustic Neon Crossing that's floating around on youtube.

During their Spiritual Machines tour I went to a show in Syracuse in a theatre, much like this current tour, and it was the only time for me where Raine let and the crowd was able to sing 4AM in its entirety. I think Raine only got the first word out for the first verse. Amazing atmosphere.

More so individual, but concerts as a whole work too.

It is funny you ask that cause when Rick was interviewing the band at Massy Hall last month. He asked me what was my favorite memory or show..

I told him Paris, Nov 2002.. Here is why.. To see OLP in a non-English speaking place. I know in Quebec they speck French but it was not the same.. They also speak English there. In Paris the crowd was chanting in French and singing to all the songs(English and French) > To experience that was amazing..

Favorite shows for me would be
Manchester, England, NOv 2002.. Only cause they did Mafia and Thief. I asked them earlier if they could play either song and both were done

The Vanderbilt, July 2001.. This was a longer show and you really did get the best of Spiritual Machines and Happiness in one show. Only bad thing is Stealing Babies was not done

Boston, Paradise Club- Aug 2009. This was one of the best shows on the Burn Burn tour. crowd was great and I think the band fed off it..

Montreal, Dec 2000 Club Soda. The longest OLP show ( as far as I know). 23 songs. They did about 8 encores..2-1/2 hours long.

Birch Hill, May 2001- In the middle of the show they started taking request from the audience.. About 5 songs were done on the spot..

There have been so many great performances by OLP I have seen. There have been some so so performances and maybe a handful where I felt they were just going through the motions.

Best Tour in my opinion was Spiritual Machines tour in 2001. Those songs just come alive in concert.. Even now they seem to take on a life of their own. The Burn Burn shows were also amazing..

Best songs live would be Superman's Dead, Naveed( all versions), Starseed, Birdman, Stealing Babies, In Repair, Paper Moon, Thief, Monkey Brains, Innocent, Supersatellite, A/L/S, Future Is To Blame, Boy,Hope.

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

That was the night they did Potato Girl into Thief, right? It still gives me chills.

One of my favourites has to be the performance of Superman's Dead they did for Live@Much back in 2006.

I agree. That moment was wild.

yep and Carnival was done into Birdman.

I was at that show> I thought it was a great show> Mike thought differently. I was just talking to hima bout it and he told me there were some tech problems that his tech could not get right so he felt a bit off..

There are a couple -
I was at the 2001 Birch Hill show that Tattooed mentioned, where they took requests, and it was great - but their show, right around that time, at Irving Plaza in NY was maybe the greatest concert of all time. If I was forced to choose stand outs, they'd probably be OMA and Everyone's A Junkie - I can still feel the chill in my spine...

The other is an oldie - While the whole show was great, if I try to be specific, Neon Crossing from Wetlands in 95 was just unreal...

Those moments are what life is about...
