OLP songs we'll never hear live again

Postby ClumsyGirl618 » 7/28/2009, 7:06 pm

Question. In several interviews Raine has mentioned that there are at least 2 or 3 songs from each album that they'll never play or talk about again because they were compromised. Does anybody have any clue which songs they are? Matt maybe?
“Music doesn’t have the power to change the world. What music does is it changes people, & that changes the world, so to say that music doesn’t change people anymore is just ridiculous. It does everyday. It doesn’t have to be on a political or social level. You could be feeling shitty & it makes you happy & if that’s all it does, it’s changing the world. It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida

I can't recall. It's in an interview somewhere, but I'll be damned if I can remember when it was. Sometime after the release of Gravity.

He said something about there not being enough time... like they weren't completed to the bands standards or they were compromised based the the label or producers ideas of how they should be.

Those songs were mentioned (along with Is It Safe?) sometime between Gravity and Healthy. We don't know which songs they felt were "compromised" though.

All that they said was that "there's other songs they'd rather be playing."

I guess they haven't grasped that whatever random song doesn't HAVE TO BE AT EVERY SHOW. If they feel like playing it one night, then play it. Then the next night play another "classic" they'd rather play.

Geez...the songs that they don't wanna play live anymore are the same songs I happen to love!

Would it hurt them so bad to mix the setlists up a bit?!
And if I don't make it known that
I've loved you all along
Just like sunny days that
We ignore because
We're all dumb and jaded
And I hope to God I figure out
What's wrong

Pretty sure Blister and Happiness and the Fish weren't in their list. Everyone's a Junkie was though, and so was Consequence of Laughing. I'm gonna go try to find the link to the relevant interview.

Blister..I have been wanting/asking to hear this song again forever now.. I was told recently it will never be played again..Plus some old ones..

Unless it was done with Chris- Is It Safe was never done live. I had a conversation with Duncan years ago and he said he never played it live..

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

Did not mention other name. Just told some old songs will not be done again> I did not ask. Only about Blister, but I think I can figure out what songs they might be..

Maybe legally they aren't allowed to. Maybe Mike Turner has ownership.
