I have the lyrics transcribed but can't seem to get them into the game yet. Keeps locking up on me. =( Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Looking forward to getting the drums in there. Also trying to figure out what I'm going to do about bass. Probably takes some of the guitar tabs (the ones I didn't use on guitar) and see how it fits.

If you'd like, I can try to do a track for the bass also after I finish the drums. I should be able to map the bass part out to 5 buttons with no problem.

Yeah, man. That would be great if you are up for it. I suggest using Power Tabs:

http://www.power-tab.net/

It's an awesome piece of software for generating guitar tabs. All you have to do is number the strings and it will generate the sheet music. I used this to duplicate exactly the sheet music you sent me. When you're done, you can generate a MIDI or just send me the power tabs file.

Set the BPM to 85 and just rest until the bass enters the song.

SUCCESS!! Finally got vocals working! Boy are they finicky. That was the last hurdle. Now I can fine tune my tool and banging out customs should be a lot quicker.

but I don't wanna buy a wii...:( looks like I'm buying a Wii, look what OLP does to me. :)

if I do get a wii though, I'll definitely consider helping you chart out at least a couple things. Just to take some of the load off

Well, you could always use a PC. There are several RB clones, some of which are compatible with the console instruments. Customs have also been figured out for PS2. I know there is a community that is closing in on XBox 360 customs but they aren't quite there yet.

Yeah, I've tried FOF on my PC, it ran OK (and no more than ok) for my guitars, and not so great for drums. This was a while back though, I'm sure there are better programs now that I can give a try. Would the tracks you're making for the Wii be auto-compatible with those as well?

I haven't tried any PC versions so I don't know which ones are good, but you may want to try Unsigned:

http://www.unsigned-game.com/

I believe many of these programs have converters so I would probably be able to convert my charts to a usable format. If not, I could add an export feature in my program.

TW, please help motivate the band to get involved with this. I think the tracks could do quite well

Also, anyone curious. Here's a list of some more things that are currently in playtesting:

http://www.rockband.com/forums/showpost ... tcount=171

Includes The Shins, Steve Vai, Finger Eleven, Stroke 9, Drowning Pool, etc.

I think it's safe to say OLP could one up Finger Eleven...I mean the song they have up right now is "Paralyzer" for goodness sake.

Innocent would own that in an instant.

but I'm waiting for my SM full album ;)

The Rockband Network Store went live yesterday and popped out 100 already developed tracks. Most are by unknown/indie bands; however several were from known artists.

Get on it OLP... if freaking Stroke 9 can afford to get one of these development teams to chart songs. So can you.

Just wanted to add this since it's my news of the day:

The Tragically Hip are going to be in Rock Band through the RBN. So far, the only song in testing is "Blow at High Dough" but you have to admit, that's pretty sweet. Especially for a start.

I did think a bit and realize what the issue with OLP is. The label owns rights to the masters I believe....which means 2 things.

One, OLP could do a re-record for older songs (*ahem* Spiritual Machines/Clumsy tour live tracks, or surely a rehearsal was well recorded ;) )

or two, if the band were willing, we could at the very least get some stuff from Burn Burn (and I would LOVE that), White Flags and Monkey Brains for the win!

I really wish the band would at least give it a try with ONE song, just to see how it goes.

I think they're mixing the live recordings on the fly, which wouldn't work for Rock Band.
