OLP live!

This is for you, this is for us...

Should OLP release a live album in the future?

No, a live album would suck.

OLP live!

Postby ken maida » 5/13/2002, 1:03 pm

Well, they WERE gonna release a live album last year, they even had a release date planned, but Raine squashed it. It was one of the last thing Arnold did with the band, but Raine didn't like it. He felt he was "Prostituting OLP", and that the idea was "Too american". Do you guys think they should finally release this live albulm?

I agree with Happeninfish... It's the band's decision...

I personally would love a live CD... I like to hear the passion and raw power that the band displays when live...

Now, however, would be a bad time to make one, because (as much as I love Mike) it would be better to have Steve on it. Make it the first project that Steve is fully invovled in...

Arnold wanted it, Sony wanted it, even Mike was doing everything he can to convinve him. I do, however, agree that if Raine dosen't want it, it shouldn't be released. (I guess that didn't work for Gravity). In any event, I would love to hear live OLP, more than just fan club stuff, singles and bootlegs.

I agree that now is not the right time, especially if mike dosen't come back. They have this one all made up, Raine won't let them release it. It's a wierd situation, caause he let them record it, but as soon as it was done, he changed his mind on the idea. The rest of the band thought it was a great idea....... I guess we will see.

Hey, don't look at me, it's Raine's words. He seemed to feel that he would be exploiting the fans, "prostituting OLP".
I said guess that didn't work for Gravity, because Raine didn't really like the way the albulm is, but let them release it anyways.

Interesting. Should this make us think that the rumours of OLP's demise if they dont make it big in the US are not true?

I love OLP live, they kick ass...but if Raine doesn't like the idea, then so be it. I can kind of understand where he's coming from, as in it would look like just a ploy for money because all their loyal fans would just have to buy it...and it really isnt new material, so there just making more money off of their fans.

But "Too American"? how about all those festivals and tour dates OLP have been playing there? Neglecting there fans who live in Canada but NOT the T-dot and surrounding areas...?

if you voted yes then you obviously DON'T respect it cause 'yes' votes mean ken's gonna pressure Raine about releasing a live album :|
