Maybe I was a bit hasty, and a bit...drunk, but I will give Trustworthy a chance. If we lived through, gulp, Gravity, it can't get worse.

Right now I have to deal with another favorite band deal with Bob Rock, 311.

Healthy > Gravity

I seem to be one of the few who thinks this.

I prefer HIPT's overall lyrics and theme, but I can't get into the songs and they aren't catchy at all, and Raine's voice bothers me. That's what puts Gravity over the top for me. In Gravity Raine's voice loses the falsetto but it's still soothing and powerful to me.

Hahaha. I remember during volleyball season, I'd always have the falsetto of Car Crash in my head. So we'd be playing a game, and you'd hear my attempt and 1997 Raine Maida.

I got funny looks, to say the least.

Oh! Haha, I forgot to say that I heard Automatic Flowers on the radio station yesterday. "Alright, that was Our Lady Peace with Automatic Flowers, the classic rock song for the hour..."

So, does that mean "no" to any falsetto on Burn Burn? Any at all?

You either like to change the song up alittle bit while singing it or it has a little bit of falsetto. eh? EH?

Trustworthy, it would be awesome if you could just ask Raine why he no longer uses his amazing falsetto... is it because he can't? Because of just a general evolution?

I'm not dwelling on the past I just would love to have that amazing voice back, even if its only for the live performances of old songs.

Well, Naveed didn't use it that much (although when it was used it sounded awesome, example: The Birdman (I feel him... HIIIIIII)). If Raine can sing with the emotion used on that album, I'll be pretty happy.

Yeah, MindsOnLoan has it — emotion is the main element. In the studio version of AYD, Raine's voice loses the emotive drive that it had in the live performance. It's still a great tune, but just lacks the essence the band could have captured with it.

i know for a fact the raine man can still rock that shit out...

But people change, evolve etc, sometimes artists just become a parody of themselves and just feel the need to change it up just to retain their own sanity! When an artist starts becoming recognized for only one aspect of their art it really takes away from the entire spectrum of what they do...and sometimes an artist has the drop one of the things he/she is known for the most just to have the chance to showcase other aspects of what they do.

I don't care what anyone says, artists make art for other people - sure it feels great to do it as an artist - but the bottom line is you want people to see it, hear it, etc - and if your art starts becoming lost in translation because of one style, one process, one aspect of what you do, then you will try anything to make people see, hear and FEEL what you are really trying to say..

wow! who slipped the freakin' acid in my soy milk?
