actually i think last time i really did have a girlfriend and she really was just super clingy and fucking annoying, so i really did dump her on the internet. you guys didn't think that was very funny either.

this time, i'm single, and while i do hit the girl i'm seeing, it's only cause she asks me to. ;)

i bet there are a few guys here who know a thing or two about that, eh fellas, eh? yeah you know what i mean.

awwww poor joshy *hugs*
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

Yea, idk, I was looking for this tread.. I just wanted to post in it for no real reason..

As of right now, Bailey & I have been going out for almost 5 months officially, but we were going out before that, just one of those deals where we didn't want to start going out officially because we were afraid that it'd mess around with the play we were in.. we were the leads in our high school play "Once Upon A Mattress" (I was Prince Dauntless, she was Princess Winnefred).. so, the day after we had our last performance, we started going out officially

Our first date was a wierd one to say the least, we went to the movies to see "Larry The Cable Guy: Health Inspector".. yea, very classy movie, but the funny thing was that she ended up enjoying it more than I did (she's a big fan of comedies & action movies).. we've gone to the movies a lot together (Benchwarmers, Scary Movie 4, V For Vendetta, Da Vinci Code, Superman Returns, Pirates Of The Caribbean 2, X3, Garfield: A Tale Of Two Kitties, Talladega Nights: The Ballad Of Ricky Bobby, Over The Hedge.. and probably a few more I forgot)

It was wierd how we'd never met before this year, since we're friends with almost the same people.. like one of my best friends, Marissa, was best friends with Bailey too.. but then again, she's wierd like this and sometimes she makes efforts to keep her friends apart from one another so she can be the center of attention..

Also, we went to Knoebles (amusement park) earlier this summer & we went a whole week with her family to her grandmother's beach house on Fire Island (which was only the 2nd time I'd ever been to the beach in my life).. most of the time though, we'd sit around her house and watch tv or movies and cuddle on the couch.. since, of course, we're both 17 and don't get too much money from our jobs (she worked at Boyer's grocery store & I worked at Giant supermarket.. and PA has a very low minimum wage compared to the rest of the US)

One thing that was always funny was when we'd be in the mall or something, all these old people would walk by and give us these looks, you know, the aww.. look, they're so cute.. looks.

Main reason I wanted to post this is because right now I'm missing her, she had to leave for college the other day, and it's not like she went somewhere close, she was only accepted to 2 of the colleges she applied to (Vermont & Pittsburgh), so she went to Vermont, which is 7 hours away. To make things worse, my best friend went to the Nascar race in Tennessee this weekend, so I didn't really have anyone at home here to talk to

One of the times that was funny was prom night.. we went to dinner with a group of our friends, but she'd known most of them a little longer (they were all seniors this past year except for 2 that had graduated already).. they kind of ignored us all night, one of Bailey's friends kind of is like that if someone's not giving her all the attention, she ignores them and gets everyone else to too (not Marissa, she mainly just tries to keep her friends separated).. so, at the dinner only one other person was really talking to us.. then when we actually got to the prom, we ended up hanging out with my friends (the ones that Bailey really didn't know), and ended up having a great time, since my friends are crazy and we were doing all this crazy stuff.. of course I can't dance, but I tried my best for her.. and at least it didn't look too bad when we were slow dancing and everybody started watching us when we started dancing to footloose, since nobody else seemed to want to

Then we went back to her house overnight with our friend Tom & his girlfriend Hillary.. and of course, they fall asleep before midnight (we didn't even come home until 11:30).. so all we could do was sit up and watch The Princess Bride, which was showing on tv that night.. idk, just funny how they just fell asleep at a prom party which only involved 4 people

So, I'm posting this right now because I miss her at the moment, and I just had to type all this out somewhere.. I get to see her at the end of September when I go up with her family for her birthday (on Sept 29th & 30th & Oct 1st).. her b-day's the 29th, but it's a friday, and she'll have class anyway until around 3 or so

So, we've been talking on the phone every single night since Thursday, when she left. But the fact that there's been nobody here to talk to kind of sucks.. I did go to the mall yesterday with Marissa & Rachel, which did help... but I still really wish the end of the month would come already.. it's easier for her right now since she's trying to adjust to a new style of life at college, and last night she even got to see a comedy show, I forget who it was that she said it was, but they were on Comedy Central before

Tomorrow, it'll start becoming easier though, especially with my senior year of high school starting, and I'll be busy beyond belief.. since appearantly I chose the hardest schedule of anyone in my grade this year (4 AP classes - Physics, Calculus, Statistics, & US History)... and I have work every other day this week too

Oh, and just to give you guys an idea.. here's a pic of us, I don't think it's too big to post.. it's from dinner after her graduation

ok.. I think the pic worked this time

It's tough when you are dating someone and they go off to college. It takes a lot of work, and respect of time and distance to make it work out. I have no idea how Josh and Kym do it, or how Rob and Bethany did it for so many years. The time apart makes you appreciate the time together. When she comes home, make sure you don't demand all of her free time. Give her the opportunity to spend time with her family and friends. They are very important too. But don't get down and out. Live your life and have fun.

Unrelated, I didn't think Giant supermarkets were still in business. There used to be one in Bristol when I was a really little boy. But that's been almost 23 or 24 years ago since it went out of business. Also, your friend is probably still sitting in traffic at the racetrack. Leaving the race at Bristol is not fun. Ever.

Haha.. yea, Giant is still open, but they're only in this little area.. if I remember the stupid training video right.. there only Giants in PA (woah.. there's actually 2 different chains of Giant Supermarkets.. the other one's in Virginia, Maryland, DC, & Delaware)

And yea, I know what you're saying.. I can't take up all her time when she gets home.. one funny thing though was that her family almost includes me in anything they do.. which is strange for me, since my own family doesn't even do that..

I sort of just want school to start so I can see all my non-college friends again.. since right now, so many of them put off school shopping until the last minute, and now they can't go out and do anything

The other thing that may help is that Bailey's been talking about transferring closer to home next year, since she is so far away from home and she doesn't know anyone up there except her one friend, who's only going there because it was the only school she was accepted to.. I could imagine it being easier if I was going to college too, since I'd be uber-busy getting set up.. but instead all I had to do was pack my bookbag with folders, notebooks, pens, & my pre-calc notes from last year

Thanks for the advice

well im about to be in that same boat

my gf is going off to college...leaving sunday i think...but its only an hour and a half away...so hopefully it wont be too bad...and i can go visit her...and she will come back here to see family and friends too

and i agree that it is important to not demand all her free time when she comes back, cause family and friends are important too
Is there something good, something more?
Is there anything worth dying for?

This is the story of three friends. The girls are best friends. I liked the boy. She hooks up with him. I really don't know how to handle all of this. I do know my reaction right now is counter productive. No matter how hard I try, it's not changing. This crap isn't getting easier or less silly as I get older.

This is just an update... I finally got to go up to Vermont to see her this past weekend.. (actually just got home at 9:30 tonight).. and after going up to see her for this weekend.. I'm no longer the least bit worried about her at college.. she hasn't changed a bit from high school in her core beliefs or in her attitude about life.. she's not up there with 95% of her college doing drugs (and trust me about this one.. UVM is the #2 drug college in the US)... I don't get to see her for another month (first week of November).. but we talk every night on the phone and I was so happy when I got out of the car to see her

So, as for my update.. this weekend was amazing and I feel that I'm the luckiest guy alive.. I may have to go for times without seeing her.. but it's worth it for when we do get to see each other.. the only thing about the whole trip I didn't like.. her little sister (6th grade) was so annoying on the trip up to see her.. but in all honesty I didn't care at all

Only another 34 days or so until I see her again.. but she's definitely worth the wait
