Okay, let's get some background information first.
I have a half sister (who currently lives in Toronto) named Lynda. She's my mom's daughter. I have really no information about her father (as far as my mom's concered, he doesn't exist). My (half) sister lived with us until she moved away, got married and then moved to Toronto.
Now today...
My friend Caylee was standing around with a group of her friends. I walked by, going to my locker.
Me: Hey, Caylee.
Caylee: Hey Rob. OH! ROB!
Me: Yeah?
Caylee: Do you have a sister?
Me: Yeah...
Caylee: Named Lynda?
Me: Yeah...?

Caylee: WOAH! *points to her friend* This is your sister!
Me: She's my what?
Caylee: Yeah, this is Crystal. [or was it Christine? I was too caught off guard by it all]
Me: Umm... Hi?
Crystal: Yeah! I'm Lynda's little sister.
Me: Lynda has a little sister? Cool!
Crystal: And a little brother!
Me: Woah. This is really weird. And cool.
Crystal: I saw Lynda this summer, and when she found out I'm going to this school, she said to look for a Robert with a sister named Lynda.
Me: That's awesome.
Crystal: This'll blow your mind for the rest of the day, won't it?
Me: Yeah! This is kinda weird.
Crystal: Yeah. Apparently Susan [my mom] didn't want to have anything to do with my side of the family.
Me: Yeah, I didn't even know Lynda had other siblings...
Crystal: Well, I gotta go. But it was cool to meet you!
Me: Same here. I'll see you around school!
Crystal: See ya!
[there was a lot more conversing in there, but you get the idea]
So... I now know that I go to school with my half sister's half sister.
My quater sister?
She's not really related to me by blood, but I'd still consider it a close relation.
And now I kind of have a little sister at school, too.
This is all really weird to me.
