Without the whiney and emo people, the scarily cheerful people wouldn't be quite as appreciated, and Wal-Mart greeters wouldn't be necessary. Sigh.

Oh they'd still serve a purpose. that purpose would be to put a sticker on your bag if you're going to customer service to do an exchange or refund, or to call you back in if you set off the magnetic sensor (inventory control tag) because your product wasn't demagnetized!

That's usually just the afro guy who goes out and actually brings in the carts.

no. the greeters sometimes give people carts and take empty carts from people exiting the store.

a few times at the south location, the old lady tried to smoosh me. and there's a few at the north one that get a little too cart happy.

In all honesty, Wal-Mart greeters kind of scare me. Yes, hello, and no, I don't want a cart, now go away and leave me to look at the horrible organizational skills in the CD section. :)

My uncle wants to be a Walmart greeter. He'd be the best greeter ever. He talks to random strangers all the time anyway.

I love talking to random strangers. I love asking their opinions on things I'm looking to buy. I also struck a nice conversation with a young family in Universal Studios. Wal Mart greeter, though? Hopefully not.

Stangers talking to you is fine.. until they get to a certain age. A few years ago I was at FYE in the mall, and a man, probably in his fifties, kept carrying on a conversation. It eventually came across as him hitting on me.

But once you get really elderly, it's okay again. I feel sorry for the old people who do.

The circle of life, children... the circle of life.
