agreed the low amount we make is even lower with taxes. Minimum wage in reality is about 4 dollar and change not almost 6 like they say. It is complete bullshit and they want to raise tuition for state college in New York by 40%...I dont get where this money is going

yes. you have taxes

but be happy you have a social healthcare system. My mom used to spend thousands for health insurance, and it was shitty health insurance. They wouldn't pay for the doctor bills when my brother broke his hand. My mom's work FINALLY decided to give us insurance, and it's not even that great of insurance

your public education system doesn't suck ass like ours does.

and tuition...ha. My tuition costs about 8,000 a year, and it is a public university. They want to raise it too. The only people who can seriously afford this with no financial aid (and they hardly give aid out) are the wealthy. hmmm I wonder if that's why practically all of Long Island and Oakland County goes to my school?

if my mom didn't buy into this trust fund thing that she got for me when I was a kid, there's no way I would be able to shell out the 15,000 it costs to go here

our vaunted social healthcare program is roughly 6 years behind the american one. we have enormous waiting lists and underpaid and inferior doctors and nurses.

and yes, our public education sucks just as badly as yours does.

yeah, I guess you're right.

social healthcare doesn't work and neither does our lovely program.

meh.

our public education is a vicious circle and will never be fixed though, it's very sad yet very true.

you know why? Because ur healthcare is free. Everyone thought that would be so great but look whats happened. Everything has to cost money if it is to have value. old slogan "you get what you pay for". Your government wants to give you free healthcare....then of course its gonna suck.

yeah, but you know what sucks?

when your family doesn't get health insurance from their employer, and you have to pay thousands of dollars for something as simple as a few stitches.

Try to find the right in that.

yeah.

and it's not good when you know that your mom should go to the doctor and she refuses because she doesn't want to spend 100.

So, what you're saying is that the lives of rich people are more valuable and precious to those who love them than the lives of the suffering, poverty-stricken people. You jackass.

Actually, that's not what he said. Read the post. The idea in socialism is that everyone receives enough money to live. Great idea. One problem. Without any incentive to excel (because you make the same), there is no competition and thusly, lower quality. Also, with free healthcare, patient lists soar and not everyone can be serviced in time, drastically reducing quality as well. Don't put words in people's mouths.

yeah, but isn't the whole idea of socialism that you work to better the community and not to make money?

aka: you become a doctor because you want your community to be healthy, and not so that you're wealthy?

i would rather that then have the entire lowest class of the country have no access to life-saving aid. maybe it's just me, but i don't think it's right that your income bracket should determine whether or not you deserve to live.

That may be the idea. That doesn't mean that is how everyone feels. Is it fair that someone who goes throught 8 years of intense education, takes difficult exams to earn certification, and deals with the pressure of saving people's lives earn the same as everyone else? Not really.
