First of all, it's not high school, it's middle school, second, this guys not a "sit and talk serious" kinda guy. Some sneaking around will do it!

That or you can wait until he loses interest.

Not by adult standards, certainly, but I've known high schoolers to be quite happy in their high school relationships. As long as they're at the same level of maturity and not prone to crazy melodrama. Teenage relationships are obviously not going to be mature adult relationships, but that doesn't mean they're inherently bad or not worth the trouble. At the very least it's life experience that socializes youngun's with the knowledge of navigating relationships and learning how to deal with the issues therein. At the most, that high-school chick could be the girl you marry and spend the rest of your life with! :) What? It happens!
Of course, it would necessarily depend on the people you choose to date. There are definitely catty teenage girls (and douche-bag boys) that aren't worth anyone's effort until (or unless) they grow up. But choosing not to date idiots and crazy-people is a rule that pretty much applies throughout all of life.

Plus, casual dating is also something that involves maturity in order to be executed properly. You think Sally-middle-school won't be broken-hearted when the boy she likes doesn't wanna get involved with her and keeps dating other girls? And in later years when sex comes into the game things will inevitably get complicated and drama-filled (especially if you're trying to sleep with people you're not putting effort into dating). Being a teenager in general takes effort and is difficult and often comes with lots of drama. Kids are learning to be adults, and learning to deal with romance is part of that.[/i]

My parents started dating in highschool. My sister, who graduated this summer, has been with her boyfriend for about two years now. Mom has told me that she hopes my sister doesn't end up marrying the guy -- "You shouldn't have to be with only one guy in your life. Don't marry your highschool boyfriend." She speaks from experience.

It's a long-ass time to be together, is all.

And annie, I agree.

I like the idea of 'dating,' but what's the point at this age? It seems to be futile anyways. What will come of it?

What will come of it is getting to know what you're near future will consist of but in a less serious way. And if you like that person a lot, who cares about age? I mean, I'm not saying "do " anything when your 13 but don't not date when your young. You'll get some experience and have a fun relationship doing it.

Tell me about it. Restraining orders and Megan's Law registration isn't fun at all. Trust me.

My parents got together in high-school too! My mom doesn't say stuff like that though. When I was in high-school she was all like "why don't you have a boyfriend? Why don't you ask that guy? He's cute!"
And I gotta say, either my parents are completely content with eachother, or the most super-stealth fighters ever.

I can never remember my parent's marriage being stable. Like they'll go through periods where things are fine, but... yeah!

Ahaha, my mom and I check out boys together. However, our taste is a bit different at times.

And yeah, 7th grade relationships are definitely insane. Good luck!

So my next words of advice that I would normally share with people will be completely irrelevant to you because of the age thing...hmmmm...what to say?

Move on, there is so many more important things in life than the "who do you like better" notes passed around class. I wish someone told me at 13 that these things were not the end of the world - but idk, I am a girl so maybe its different.

Play it cool and move on - then she will surely love you (and hopefully along with some other better girls.)

I'm done. This has caused me nothing but stress the whole past 4 months and i want this year to be good for a change. There are plenty more girls. I'm ending this tomorrow. I just hope she doesn't end up back with that dumbass ex- boyfriend of hers.

I hope you had turned 13 before joining the CM, or else you had your parents sign the consent form and mail it to Matt before joining. Otherwise we'll have to ban you forever!
