"Lost" Star chooses Jail for DUI

Postby Neil » 4/26/2006, 11:36 am

So....Michelle Rodriguez chose 4 days in Jail instead of doing community service for her DUI arrest that happened recently.

Do you agree with that decision? Which would you choose?

It just seems messed, to me.

Couldn't she use the situation to actually do something positive??? Talk with Hawaiian students about the consequences of driving drunk?

I donno. It was probably a lot of time, and she's only in Hawaii for work so finding the time to do hours of community service would be difficult. If she want's to just finish her time in a weekend instead of dragging it out for a year I can respect that.

Community service.....without a doubt. Actually serve my punishment turning it around and attempting to do something positive.

C'mon now....she has enough money to stick around. And plus, if she would've been willing to do public speaking she could have signed an agreement with the courts, and the prosecution team, that she would do some sort of "thing" back in the states...

Such as....public speaking.

She would merely have to report her activity to her home state, which would then forward the activity to Hawaii.

Students would be more willing to listen, contently, to somebody such as her. A celebrity type of figure.

Versus any one of us.......

they may have given her a simple choice though: stay in hawaii and do community service or take the jail time. they may not have wanted to deal with organizing a more complicated community service setup especially for her.

Must be nice to be a celeb.......but we wouldn't get that treatment if we vacationed in Hawaii, and got a DUI/DWI.

Well that's the way it's always been, unfortunately.

Although I must say I was glad to see an example made of Martha Stewart.

I dunno.......that thats absolutely freaking rediculous. I doubt the gov. in BC just "gave up". It's obviously a horrible law that has not been updated since cars were switched over from being operated with a "crank".

Back then, if you drove drunk you'd fall on your asshole before you even got the "crank" completely fired up.

Good luck driving after "happy hour" and after "last call" in BC. I'm noting not to visit there, ever, till the law changes.

Somebody call Michelle Rodriquez' drink ass. Tell her to hit up BC!
