You're 12 hours late Mr Shelter.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

wow, wow, wow!!! I just watched the 5000m women's speedskating event.

And Clara Hughes from Canada got gold!

And Cindy Klassen got her 5th medal in Turin - a bronze in this event. From the CBC: "Klassen was, unquestionably, the story of the Games, departing Turin as Canada's most prolific Olympian ever. Klassen is the first Canadian athlete to win five medals in a single Olympics and the first with six overall. "

Yay Canada!!

I'm so amazed and proud at all the Canadian women who have done so well this year!!! :D

It was actually kind of cool. The whole town just like stopped to watch this game. In every workplace there was a television set up. And all the schools closed at 12 to send kids home to watch the game. No one was out. Everyone was just like obsessed with curling for that 2 hour period.

Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

my colleague's son won a bronze medal... it's pretty cool. It was posted on the company intranet with a profile about him, his past successes, information about the family, etc. So 300,000 people in the company are celebrating this as a win in "our family".

I should clarify... those 300,000 employees are worldwide... only 10,000 of those are in Canada.

Just read this....

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20060225/en ... skatewomen

How great of her to do that! :)

Anyway, so final medel standings:

Country..........G.....S.....B.....T
Germany....... 11...12....6....29
United States...9.....9....7....25
Canada...........7....10...7.....24
Austria............9..... 7...7.....23
Russia.............8......6....8....22

This is a record accomplishment for Canada, so yay! And Cindy Klassen will carry the flag in the closing ceremonies today.

I can't wait for 2010 in Vancouver - I definitely want to take a week of vacation to go! I've only been as far west as Calgary & Canmore so this is the perfect excuse to finally get to BC :D
