... can't believe I was the first person to say that.

You should really read it. My favorite book of all time. Take the time to understand it... it's absolutely beautiful/heartbreaking.

I really don't see why everyone raves about these books.

Virginia Woolf - Jacob's Room

I'm really not understanding this book at all, and I have to read it for my independent study in English. Fuck.

Then:
I have to finish Desolation Angels by Kerouac, which was so rudely interrupted by my English class.
Jack Kerouac - The Dharma Bums
Daniel Ellsberg - Secrets: A Memoir of Vietnam and the Pentagon Papers
Virginia Woolf - The Waves
Albert Camus - The Outsider, as well as the Plague
This is my story both humble and true,
Take it to pieces and mend it with glue.

The Outsider is AWESOME. You feel like you're staring at a painting the whole time you're reading it.

Right now I'm working on a sexual ethics paper so I'm reading "Pornography - Not A Moral Issue" by Catherine MacKinnon. The woman's an idiot.

Ohh yay I <3 The Outsider. I'm reading the Plague at the moment which is also fab.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

woo. i'm glad i'm not the only one in here that's not reading fancy shmancy books. i'm reading black house by stephen king and peter straub at the moment.
let it be known that i hate peter straub's writing, but am only reading black house because it's the very last stephen king book i haven't read.

I've read the Catcher and the Rye like four times! It's brilliant.
Dharma Bums is also on my "to read list." Along with about 10 other books, haha.
