They're not all snobs! just the ones who think they're right about their formed opinions of literature while thinking others with a lesser education's opinion is less important or valid.

hey, i take full credit for this aliveness of this thread, since i was the one who revived it.

also, megan, it's very possible that orson scott card is a bigot, but i don't care, because he's a genius and his writing style is brilliant.

what? orson scott card doesn't want to kill jews! and i certainly wouldn't excuse him if he did. i just don't judge his writing by his personality, that's all

*shrug* I don't care what you read, you're free to read him all you want, he's one of the top bestselling science fiction writers ever. I was just making commentary on his political and social views that I find to be quite offensive.

oh my god that book was so good, but so sad. i bawled at several points. the narrative was really well constructed though.

the movie wasn't bad either.
