I think the Liberals will lose either way. The truth is that the Gomery report will be national news when its announced in December, and so your reasoning Sinead that the people are going to forget about it seems rather unlikely.
Personally, I think the people have a right to hear the whole story. Simply because some of the people who have given testimony have shown the liberals to be heavily corrupt, it is up to Gomery to decide whether this is true or not. People are capable of lying or be deceitful. I mean obviously something funny did happen, but we won't know until Gomery's report whether this had anything to do with Martin, or if this was something Chretien did.
I mean, either way there was Liberal involvement, so the party will suffer, but I'd like to know whether this was the result of a few corrupt people, or if this was a large-scale effort that the entire party was in on.
Also, Sinead, when are you going to realize that the Conservatives won't win a majority government and therefore by themselves will not be able to put laws against abortion and gay marriages in place. At least with the conservatives we know what they're agenda is. The liberals showed this week that they can swing in whatever direction to make themselves stay in power. One second they're siding with the NDP, the next section a deal is trying to be hammered out with Harper.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.
