So basically, in a field every element has to have an additive inverse (something that you can add to it to get 0) 1+0=1, and 1+1=2 (I'm being lazy here, so let's just accept that those are both true) . . . there has to exist an a such that 1+a=0, and since the only numbers are 0, 1, and 2, 1+2=0.

I have a calculator from Radio Shack from probably about 1980 that runs on a single AA battery, and I've only had to change the battery like... once. 
Do they even make non-solar calculators anymore?
