'Doesn't mean much' is probably wrong choice of words on my behalf. I'm not saying the US isn't doing enough, I'm saying they're relatively not doing as much as other countries. I was just trying to point out that while it may seem like the US spends a lot on aid, it doesn't make its help more important than what other countries give. This in reply to your comment that the US can't do it on their own. They're not doing it on their own, but other countries don't have the financial ability to give as much. Does that make more sense?

you guys don't seem to understand, it's not how much you give, but rather how much you give compared to how much you could give if canada gave 20 billion that is WAY more significant to us, then if America did, we made a larger sacrrifise finacially and gave more of our share, then if america gave 20 billion.

that's just it, your country seems to consider itself the worlds policeman. Half the countries don't want your help, and we don't need a country with a superiority complex bullying everyone around. the biggest threat to Canada is America, and always has been

The US has a large sense of paranoia. Ever since probably Pearl Harbour they've had this large fear that everyone is after them. I guess it's the price you pay when you get your nose in other peoples business.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

I don't think you can fairly say that they are the most "generous", since they are also the richest. I believe that the net amount donated is the most, though, with a population of something like 390 million and one of the world's highest GDP's.
