thank you
and now for something a little different:
Dance
She used to resist
The wind that would sweep her away
Raise her feet off the earth
And carry her with it like a fragile leaflet
It would push against her
Threaten to break her
And she would push against it in return
Struggle to keep herself grounded
Trying to drown out the mad music
That lived in the forceful breeze
Laughing at her while she fought helplessly.
“Save me,” she would cry
“Help me keep myself from the madness on the other side
“The wind takes me to unknown places
“Places I would never venture to on my own
“It makes me see things I would never want to see”
But she would cry to no one
And no one would grasp her hysterical hands.
Now she lets the wind have her
Closes her eyes and soars to unimaginable heights
She lets the air wrap around her and caress her skin
While she sways to the music pouring into her senses
Using the nothingness under her feet
As stepping stones for her disarrayed waltz
She hums along with the music and dances carelessly
Her frantic dance of surrender.
