red plastic wings

Post by thirdhour »

red plastic wings

Pink magic marker
Whispers in tongues
Over the damage scribbled
Up her leg

Tender flesh
Torn
By the teeth
That reach up inside
And bite and gnaw
And feed
On her youth

She runs
Holding hands
With the eye
Of the camera
Letting it
Seep in
And watch her search for love
A comfort to hold
In all the wrong crevices

She takes him
Holds
The man that is
This boy
Fingers aren’t all she’ll
Swallow
Tonight

Maybe some other night
She’ll find enlightenment
In the 7-11 parking lot
Dusty stale
Exposed
She’ll find her
Red Plastic Wings
And she’ll dance with them
Into the light
Neon aura
That holds dominion over all

But not tonight
Tonight
She’ll
Fall into herself
Crawl
Into the backseat
Where he lays
Drinking life from
The shadows

You already know what I think, but I'll just say good job once again.

i really really like it.

great job, yannic.

to me, the fragmented lines reflect the girls fragmented state of mind.. or maybe even feelings of self worth.

Thanks you guys. And kimmy, I'll just pretend to be deep and say that of course I thought of that. That's a cool way of looking at it.

And he can't understand how everyone goes on breathing when true love ends, his mother whispers quietly... heaven's not a place that you go when you die, it's that moment in life when you actually feel alive

That was pretty awsome.
I read the title and thought it was about the Detriot Red Wings for some reason...

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.
